We did not stay at the hotel but stopped by the pub/restaurant. We ate at the bar and had fish and chips and drinks. Great food and the service was fast and efficient. Our servers were Mark and the manager Luke. These 2 work great together and your food and drink is in front of you before you know it....

A good busy bar is part of this hotel just up from the old course. Now whilst I appreciate St Andrews is the home of golf , it seems you need to go bedecked in golf clothing to get any conversation or civility from the owner. We have been here a few times and whilst the food is good ,...

Thank you for your review. Sorry we did not get to talk to you upon your visit - Jack and I do try to engage with all Customers but with the volume of people coming thru our front door every day it's impossible for us to have a conversation with every person.........I'm sure if you had tried to get my...

Okay... Let's be honest. If you're going to St Andrews, you're likely going to golf and then drink pints. This is the place. Come to the Dunvegan to bask in all that the golf world can offer you. Amazing memorabilia on every flat surface. Good food. Good scotch. Good beer. Great service. Nice tiny patios too! If you're fortunate, you'll...

I retired in 2015 and immediately began planning a golf trip with my favorite foursome to St Andrews. The advice I was given by everyone who had been before me was to stay at the Dunvegan - just a 9 iron from the first tee at the old course, depending on the wind. After a long day of travel, toting...

I stayed there about a year ago (about 3 weeks or so prior to 2015 Open Championship) with a group of 12. We had a blast, got to know the owners. Staff was great, food was really good. It's bar food, but really good bar food. We could not have been treated better. The rooms were comfortable. Not luxurious, but...

My wife and I were on our honeymoon to Scotland and decided to play at St. Andrews. Before our tee time we were looking for a bite to eat and some drinks. We rambled down the road just a block off the 18th hole at old course and looked for the most authentic/interesting and convenient place to eat we could...

Stopped in for lunch and was thrilled to see all of the photos of the famous golfers that have been to the place. Even my wife and daughter (who don't golf) were intrigued by the numerous photos but more by the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. If was anything fancy for food but it was good pub grub.

Four of us were there on the 4th of July and happy to see they decorated their pub in red, white and blue for the occasion. A man I am told is the owner is grilling out on the deck - another nice touch. A waitress starts dressing a long table with a large American flag - not a tablecloth,...

Have been going here for years and food has always been nice....but after visiting today I was very disappointed...not with the food, but the discrimination of parents with children....(2 sets of parents with 2 children)...as we walked in we were immediately approached by the proprieter and advised that we could not bring our pram for our friends 6 month old...

As my first response was rejected by trip advisor for unknown reason, I will try again I am sorry you feel as you do following your visit per your review. Our side of the story is that we do make families welcome, your issue, and I can understand some frustration is that as we are a small place, and in...

if you are a golfer, or just a tourist, a visit to the Dunvegan is essential. Just around the corner from the Old Course, and the Royal and Ancient, this classic pub offers agreeable food served by friendly staff and caring, ever- present owners, a Texan and a Scot, named Jack and Sheena. This is not just a pub. It...
