We stayed in the Burnside West lodge which needs updating. For £250 a night we expected a more luxurious stay. I appreciate the lodge is dog friendly but we have stayed in luxury hotels with our dog, with a separate children's bedroom for £150/night and the surroundings were far superior. I couldn't have used the kitchen utensils/crockery as the lodge...

Sorry to hear that the first trip to the town was not as good as you had hoped. The Lodge (a self-catering lodge) was the only room we had available for you that weekend, and I am aware that we had relaxed the normal 3 night minimum stay on this occasion. The 3 night weekend rate is around £450 at...

A beautiful country house hotel with a wonderful ambience and furnished in a sympathetic manner. My friend and I visited for a delicious Afternoon Tea which was beautifully served in an elegant room overlooking the large and well maintained gardens. The staff are very welcoming and are very well trained and knowledgeable. From our waitress I learned the history of...

Always good to read when our guests have enjoyed the time with us at Rufflets, and thank for the time taken to leave your thoughts. The hotel is a special place - and I do hope that you will come and see us again soon - with the weather getting warmer you can even take Afternoon Tea on the Terrace!!...

Rufflets is a beautiful Country House Hotel, just a mile and a half from St Andrews. We had a really lovely room which was more like a suite really - the room decor was very nice, with two comfortable armchairs and the king size bed particularly comfortable. The en suite bathroom was very spacious and cosy with Molton Brown toiletries....

Dear Maureen As always we are very much reassured to read when our guests have had such a great time with us at Rufflets. I suppose that at the end of the day, the great experiences that we see being described on this site is really what is expected of hotels in this day and age. We do work hard...

Third time at Rufflets, this time for my 70th birthday. All very good as usual, unfortunately spoiled a bit by my wife slipping on bath mat in the shower and landing on her back. This could have been handled better by staff afterwards so unfortunately not the usual glowing review of past years. Hopefully these comments might help prevent this...

Many thanks for the feedback - and it was good to be able to discuss the matter with you at length once I was in the office. I was pleased to hear that your wife was making a good recovery - and again, apologies for the way it was handled. We are looking at the issue in some detail as...

3 couples visited for a weekend to celebrate my husbands 65th birthday . We are all seasoned ITISON customers and visit some very nice hotels. This stay was excellent. Room lovely (we upgraded to a suite) reception staff very friendly. Food was lovely (better than our recent visit to Greywalls with the same couples where food was a HUGE disappointment!)...

Great visit and stay once again at Rufflets, We are getting married here in June so my Fiance and I were invited to Rufflets for our complimentary wedding tasting. We decided to make the most of it and stay overnight to allow us to sample the wines available and tie in some supplier visits. All the staff are exceptionally attentive...

Great to read how much you enjoyed the stay - and Chef is pleased that the Chateaubriand went down so well - it has become one of our best-sellers on the menu at the moment. That, on top of the wonderful breakfast, does mean that the good walk into town is sometimes necessary!! Look forward to welcoming you back in...

Very Impressed by the fact that the Hotel noted that one guest had a lactose problem and the Chef changed the Sauce to take this into consideration. A big Star for the fact that the Chef was willing to consider this. The place is very pleasant and in summer the grounds will be lovely. Certainly will visit again.

Great to see that as we often do, we have managed to exceed expectations on your recent visit. Being able to adapt dishes that we offer (at which ever time of day) should be quite a simple thing to achieve, and I know that our chefs do seek to be able to do this on a regular basis. It does...

This is a beautiful hotel with exceptional customer service, first class dining and outstanding grounds. Perfect for a romantic weekend. We stayed in a Turret room which exceeded our expectations- beautiful decor, gorgeous big bathroom and a lovely view over the gardens. We dined both nights in the restaurant, top marks to the chef and his team-best chateaubriand we have...

Bought a voucher for dinner bed and breakfast deal for our anniversary. So glad we did as this turned out to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. Only a couple of miles from centre of St Andrews and set in beautiful 10 acres of gardens. Very peaceful quiet hotel. Dinner was exceptional and staff very friendly...
