The room was nice clean and fresh with a large double bed and very good shower, tv but lacking in teabags for a drink as there were only 2 provided and being as it is a public house as well and we arrived late we were not sure if we could go down and get some more. The toilet seat must have been installed by a person who should have gone to spec savers, the soap dispenser at the wash hand basin would not work so to wash our hands we had to use the one in the shower. The spare pillows provided only had pillow protectors but no pillow case. The breakfast was the biggest let down, they advertise eggs benedict and 3 other benedict type breakfast items but when my wife ordered her eggs benedict she was advised that they did not have any poached egss, so i assume that they are preccooked poached eggs, but meant that you could not order 4 items from the breakfast menu,i also opted for the additional 2 slices of black pudding to go with my traditional breakfast but was advised that the black pudding was out of stock. How they could have no poached eggs or black pudding at 8.50 in the morning.

Avoid this place, since opening back up from lock down the service is slower than a week in the jail. We waited so long for an order we done an hour before and when we asked to order another round they said they stopped taking orders. The service is shocking. They say use there apps but there so slow will 100 % never be back in the place or any Wetherspoons

I didn't like the idea of going through the bar to check in, the bed was full of springs uncomfortable and old, the room smelled of stale smoke, room size ok but no sound proof as kept awake by the next rooms tv till 3am, for less money I could have got a lovely premier inn room def wont be back

first off, where it says reception, isnt at the moment actually the reception, no, you have to go into the bar area, but it doesnt actually tell you where the bar area door is. met Shirley an assistant manager, she's fab. got checked in, went to the room, lovely comfy kingsize bed, not so keen on fighting with hubster over the double quilt on the bed though. room was clean and note saying sanitised. breakfast on the monday morning, (who doesnt love a spoons brekkie?) the "sergeant major" who was serving, cleaning pipes and talking very loudly literally screamed at me to sit down, as i had had the nerve to stand up and walk toward the bar ( i was still at least 50feet away tho) to get more coffees! i was left really embarrassed and felt awkward. we scoured the many signs and no-one could find one that says sit down, put your hand up (like in school) and we'll come over. it was not the way to start the day we'd wanted especially seeing as we were attending my father in laws funeral later. being the last day of the "eat out" lots of the dishes on the menus were sold out, but there is usually something to swap for, except when there are NO puddings :O our room was on the 2nd floor so no noise from the bar below or the area outside. which is great. however, the room and parking are fine and secure. for £39 room only its a good deal. shame that the pillows were very uncomfortable. 99.9% of the staff are lovely. love the speedy checkout, just pop the room cards in the box.

Great looking place from the outside, nice welcoming staff. When I got the the door of my room on the handle was a notice saying the room had been cleaned to Covid standards and again on the table the room on the information pack it mentions room cleaned to Covid standards, but then when I picked the welcome pack up the table was clean where it had been sat but dust all around it and there was also bits on the floor which indicated that the room had not been hoovered properly. Apart from that the room was ok and the bed was comfy. Served very nice food, I tried Haggis for the first time and really liked it! If working in the area again I would certainly stay here again
