Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed at this Premier Inn as we were staying in Edinburgh for one night, so wanted somewhere central as a base. Edinburgh Waverley station is a short 10 minute walk away and there are plenty of amenities nearby, including pubs and restaurants. We did opt for a Premier Plus room, which was on the 3rd floor and of high quality, with some nice additional touches. There’s a nice bar and we did stay for breakfast, which was hosted in the on-site restaurant. Overall an excellent stay and I’d recommend!

Great stay at this Premier Inn following a show at The Playhouse. Great location - 5 mins walk to the theatre and also handy for local restaurants and pubs. We were warmly welcomed by the young man on reception and staff were very pleasant throughout our stay. Spacious and spotless rooms with comfy beds. Room was a bit warm on arrival but after we switched on the air conditioning fan, it was perfect. Quiet. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and was constantly topped up. Would definitely stay here again.

A premier inn is the same in Edinburgh as it is in any other city, for me it’s the people who make it worth staying. York place staff were great. Although check in wasn’t until 3pm we popped in at 12pm to see if they would keep our bags, the lady on the desk took an extra moment to check the system and found our room was actually ready so were able to get checked in there and then leaving us free to explore all afternoon. Really close to bus station which was great for us as we did park and ride from north side of road bridge. If I was to be negative in anyway it was the cost of our room, £189 is excessive for a premier inn bed only basis. If we’d stayed Sunday night and not Saturday it would have been £100 less 😏

I checked in on 23rd paid for my breakfast that evening for the breakfast next morning with my credit card. Gave my room number in the morning no record manager telling me I have not paid I showed my banking app which showed I had paid premier inn on the 23rd then told that was for the 23rd I checked in on the 23rd! The manager was not convinced I had paid which I had so I am extremely upset! Had breakfast as if it was a favour on this occasion no apologies.

If you are looking to experience the gay scene in Edinburgh you could not be better suited, that said this hotel is a 2 minute walk from an amazing shopping centre & 5 minutes walk away from the train station and the rest of this amazing city. The price is one of the best and the rooms are comfortable and the bed extremely so, with the rooms extremely quite.

The hotel itself is very well located and a relatively short walk from most of the main sights in Edinburgh, and most rooms seem to offer everything you would typically want for a short (even even long) stay including TV, coffee maker, hair dryer and so on. It was slightly disappointing not to have my room cleaned at the end of each day (which you would normally expect when paying a premium hotel rate), so just be warned you may likely have to request this if you can catch someone on reception or risk coming back to wet towels and so on at the end of the day which isn't pleasant.

We arrived early but staff were happy to check using early. Great central location. Room clean. Plenty tea and coffee available. Breakfast had good choice and was value for money. We were able to leave our luggage for the day on checking out to let us enjoy a few more hours in the city.
