Staff were really helpful, never quite enough of them to be honest but they worked tirelessly going back and to from the reception to the restaurant. They were exceptionally helpful when we needed to move rooms.
Breakfast area isn't quite big enough to accommodate all the diners, you have to time it right. And if you order something from the Chef you will definitely wake up when he pings his bell to let you know it's ready! Food wasn't quite as good as some other Premier Inns and they didn't have the toaster that you can set the temperature on yourself.
Particularly liked the treats left on the bed by housekeeping, really lovely touch.
Rooms clean. Bed was comfortable, I'm liking this new range of mattresses.
I will be returning, good convenient location and close to train station and many restaurants and shops. Hopefully by then, it will have had a refurb like some other Premier Inns where they have installed new showers. Premier Inns in cities are no longer budget chains so they do need up up their game a little bit to match their rivals if they are to stay competitively priced.

Stayed two nights here. It takes only a 5-minute walk from the Edinburgh Waverley Train Station to reach this hotel (along the E Market Street). Very convenient for passengers taking the train to Edinburgh, especially those carrying heavy luggages.
The room is clean and tidy, not big but appropriate. The bathroom has a bathtub. Staff service is very good. It is a hotel chain with a good and consistent quality.
The high C/P ration all-you-can-eat breakfast is well worth a try.

Birthday treat with the GF Brilliant location for the Waverley train station and ergo for walking a large portion of the city
Check in was a breeze and got in slightly early without the £10 fee they advertise
Paid for breakfast when I booked and that was decent and plentiful
Loses a “star” for two/three reasons.
1. No towels (ok 1 titchy one) when we got it (that was quickly rectified on seeing a housekeeper 👍
2. Stayed two nights be told no housekeeping unless requested (fair enough could’ve done that but we didn’t
3. The wifi 🛜 is poor
Would I recommend ?

Stayed in the plus room, ridiculously overpriced and run on a shoestring.
Misleading description says a power shower, what it doesn't tell you is that you have to climb into a very tall narrow bath and shuffle along to the end, the controls being at the end behind a long fixed panel. The shower is overhead so no way to avoid getting hair wet. If you therefore decide to have a bath instead, you can't run it without climbing in to switch the taps on. If the water is then too hot there is no way to turn the tap off without scalding yourself. In other words the bath is useless and possibly a hazard. I washed in the sink.
There are hardly any staff employed to look after customers, it is DIY customer service. The receptionist, while pleasant , was only at the desk part time as they also had to replenish the continental breakfast buffet etc. The room isn't serviced unless you request it in the morning, however the call button on the empty reception desk doesn't work, or they are too busy doing all the other jobs to answer. At breakfast they have one very hard working guy cooking all the breakfast buffet and also the cook to order items, understandably struggling to keep up at peak times.
Standard wifi was useless, plus room came with upgraded wifi included.
All this for the bargain price, off peak, of over £200 per night B&B.
Location was fine, room was quiet and clean, but would not stay again.

I stayed for four nights. As I had needed to extend my stay in Edinburgh, and the East Market Street location was fully booked, I booked an additional two nights in the Premier Inn on Rose Street, so I was able to compare both. At each location, reception was often left unmanned, and although I understand a business needs to ensure staff are kept busy, it was frustrating having to buzz and wait for someone to help, wondering if they have heard the buzzer as they have taken a couple of minutes to appear. Checking in was meant to be done at a self service screen but it was impossible to format key cards and a member of staff said that part rarely worked. The location of the East Market Street hotel was great and very convenient. It was an easy five minute walk from Waverley Station and very close to the Royal Mile. I was pleasantly surprised to find I had a bath as well as a shower. The room was very clean, although there was a little mould in the bathroom which should have been easy to remove. I slept well as the location was quiet. However, it was usually impossible to connect to the free WiFi and I ended up paying an extra £5 for "premium" 24 hour access three times during my stay. The fact that there was a premium option suggests the hotel knew the free WiFi was problematic, and I resented paying extra for a connection. Would I stay here again? No. It ticked a lot of boxes, but my stay at the second Premier Inn was better, no mould, comparable rooms, still a good location and reliable fast and free WiFi.

Just back from 5 nights stay in Premier Inn Royal Mile Edinburgh PI Royal Mile is in a perfect location for those travelling by train as only a few minutes’ walk from Waverly station and close to lots of pivotal areas such as Edimburgh Castle, Royal Mile/ Grass Market/ Princes Street/ St. James Centre and Omni Cinema etc etc In Premier Plus room on 4th floor very large, clean comfortable room and bed, quiet despite outlook onto building site! Rooms now looking a little tired with paint peeling off around window/ TV and wifi intermittently turning on/off, although didn’t report. Breakfasts were excellent lovely and fresh and well cooked - as was the service with friendly attentive staff. Snack vending machine in foyer didn’t work - eats cash / cards don’t work / no snacks dispensed, PI aware of issue but was told to contact/ complain to vending company! £1.20 lost wasn't issue but suggest PI stick on a notice saying not working as machine had amassed £10 from others! But despite few irritations enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning x

The hotel staff are arrogant; you can’t open a friendly conversation with them.; Always trying to avoid a contact with us. Uneducated.
Upon entry to the room (114), we are not happy; the chair is not clean that we have to ask them to change, which they did.
As we start using the toilet and bath, we noticed that the unit is never been cleaned or maintained (photos available)
In the morning, with help from the daylight, we noticed the totality of neglect. I don’t think our overnight stay in that room is worth £120 (without breakfast)
Before we leave, I tried to use the device to validate my parking ticket(Weaverly Station Car Park), but I was struggling to access it. So, asked a staff to help me, by using a call bell. He came in a hurry and just swiped my ticket; I know that something is wrong, but he walked away immediately. When I put my ticket in car park’s pay meter, it was faulty, that I have to call a car park attendant to sort my ticket. I end up just paying like someone who never checked in at the hotel. So, why do do I need to have my ticket validated. For what reason?
We always regarded Premier Inn as very good, but how this can be justified by this recent experience.

Stayed 3 nights with another adult and a child in a family room. While we enjoyed our stay as the location, price and breakfast could not be beat, the family room was very small in my opinion cramming a double bed and a small sofa bed in a room not leaving much room for even the suitcases. Sofa bed was not as comfie as bed but as always with Premier Inn main bed was very comfie! The staff was very courteous and helpful though but the toilet paper is awful and the free wifi was fairly bad. But overall a good stay and yummy breakfast. Although you do have to ask for the veggie options which is annoying. Also no outside noise or neighbouring rooms could be heard and right next to train station and restaurants so was happy despite the niggles.

We had a 3 night stay with the meal deal and tbh it was well worth the money. The price was reasonable, the hotel is located within walking distance of Waverley train station (we never heard any noise from the trains) and everything you want to see in Edinburgh. The staff were excellent. Friendly, professional and efficient. The food on the meal deal menu was of a high quality with the option of paying a little extra if you i.e. wanted a larger steak etc. The hotel was very new and clean and if you wanted housekeeping to clean your room it is available upon request. We went up by train so can't comment on the parking situation. I would stay here again without hesitation and recommend it to all.

We had a great time in this hotel. Located just a few minutes walk from both the Airlink 100 stop, which takes you from Edinburgh Airport downtown, and Waverly Station. In 3 minutes walk you arrive on the Royal mile. The location is therefore perfect for getting around the city. Large enough rooms, present a fridge with bottles of water (which anyway is drinkable practically throughout Scotland), kettle, tea and coffee, there are also two mini chocolates. Cleaning is done on request, just notify the reception by 12. We also had breakfast, good the sweet part, I did not try the salty one. However a stone's throw away there are several places where you can have breakfast. Recommended.
