I stayed in the Novotel in Edinburgh Park in Late July 2022. After travelling around Scotland& planing to go back on the Sunday, after train issues for my friend I decided to stay an additional day to make sure we both got home, which meant having to book last minute, & as it was The weekend of the Open availability was scares. Lucky the Novotel had perfect proximity to where my friends were staying & was close to amenities. I didn’t use & of the facilities in the hotel, however the staff at reception were friendly. As an ALL member I had my room upgrades to a suite for no additional cost, which was a good size & had a very nice setup which was great for cracking on with work tasks (plus the Nespresso machine was a welcome addition. my only critique would be the parking charges, which as an ALL member were reasonable, for those not it is quite steep, & would definitely recommend anyone who stays to sign up to ALLas there are a number of worthwhile perks. Overall, for what I needed it ticked all the boxes & although pricey was definitely worth it for the quality, & will definitely be staying at other Novotels & Accor locations when available.

Clean, cosy, modern, great staff, great buffet breakfast, a tram station very close (20min ride to the center of Edinburgh, also takes you directly to the airport). One thing missing - a toilet brush.

I was not surprised to see there have been other complaints about this restaurant manager. As I am with family and my wife on my first holiday with them the trip has been lovely up until this poor behaviour from the breakfast restaurant manager. I was getting coffee after having finished my breakfast and she stopped me, insisted on making her point that she had to check me in. I explained I had finished breakfast and there was no one to do this when I arrived. She insisted I should have spoken to the reception (when there was no instructions anywhere to do this). I am a doctor and deal with difficult people and their needs all the time. She was rude and overly authoritative in her manner, her tone and lack of empathy. I don't think she is qualified for her role. I sincerely hope she is taught to improve her attitude to customers as it leaves a bad taste and impression. The staff are otherwise professional and the hotel is nice. Thanks.

Good hotel but several things to improve: not even one small bottle of water in the room, restaurant not in service for diner (and limited option around), no coffee machine (Nespresso), only 2 plugs to charge your phone(s), laptop, watch… in 2022. Really? Quite ridiculous. Meanwhile staff is patient and remains attentive to customer needs. Location is close to tramway to city centre.

We had a fantastic stay at the hotel as a family. The room was laid out for us coming the sofa bed . The room was spotless clean. The hotel was perfect for us the the tram right outside the door 5 minute walk took us straight to the city centre which was fantastic. The breakfast was lovely and even better that two paying adults and kids eat free. It set us up for the day of sightseeing . The pool and sauna facilities were amazing at the end of a busy day walking to come back and chill . Can’t wait to come back

I stayed overnight at the hotel with my friend and our young daughters. The hotel staff were amazing from the moment we walked through the doors. We stayed in one of the suites which was absolutely stunning, the space was so well laid out and included a balcony which in the summer weather was beautiful to walk up and down in, to enjoy our morning coffee and evening drinks. The facilities at the hotel were second to none, the swimming pool and health suite was fun for all to enjoy and the gym which I used over the two days had everything I needed and more. Wifi connection was great and the kids and I got connection everywhere in the hotel. The children enjoyed their own personal games and sitting area, great set up for young and teenage kids. The breakfast was very fun, it had a huge range of options and as I am vegetarian, the staff catered to my dietary needs and made additional breakfast items at request. I would highly recommend this stay for both business and leisure and a great place to unwind, relax and only a train/tram journey away from the Centre of Edinburgh. Manira

Dear Manira, thank you once again for reposting your kind feedback for us here on TripAdvisor, it does mean so much for everyone in the team. Like I said to you by e-mail, we are over the moon to know that the whole party enjoyed themselves while in the hotel and that we managed to restore your faith in Accor and in Novotel Edinburgh Park. We have now gained a new raving fan of this hotel and that makes us very happy, as we know we will be the setting of very special family moments to come. Thank you for this review and we are looking forward to welcoming you back in November! Sincerely, Daniela Front Office Manager

Have stayed here many times over the years and stayed here again for my birthday. Again! Our room was on the top floor and I was met in the room with cakes that had been delivered and flowers from the hotel - thank you :) Room was quiet and clean. No complaints. Breakfast was buffet style and plenty options even for fussy me! Close to trams and easy to get into town. Easy to park and get on/off the motorway. We are staying again in November but in a different room. Love it here and so does hubby. Recommended.

Novotel Edinburgh Park has been our base for our annual Edinburgh trip for over 5 years now. This time was a little different, a short notice summer stay rather than the usual 3 nights in October. However, despite the short notice Daniela was as accommodating as ever in sorting out the booking for us. The breakfast as always first class - the boys loved the pancake machine ! For me cocktails in the bar were a welcome relief during the mini heatwave that week - a suggestion though, some tables to sit outside would have made it perfect! Thanks again to all the team who made our stay so enjoyable yet again. MM

Overall the hotel is pretty nice. The location wise its a good base when you are attending an event in the area and wanting to be near the airport or trains. The town is 15-20 min away by tram. Some of us arrived at night with young kids and all they could have were crisps. Some staff working during the breakfast reminded me Basil from Fawlty Towers. The employee shouting how and where to leave the serving spoons, moving them around in an angry manner asking ppl within our party for their room numbers repeatedly when they already provided them earlier and asking the other ones to go outside of the dining area. She even came over to prove her point that there was a sign to wait while we were waiting for somebody to attend to us and walked off like if she was managing US defence department. On two occasions they told us the breakfast is not included in our board when it was included...so they left us waiting while they check with somebody at the hotel. I used to work in a hospitality sector and none of the establishments would tolerate that kind of attitude towards customers. If you don't have anyone available to check as ppl walk in than walk to the table and politely ask the customer what the room number is and let them enjoy their breakfast not chasing ppl around splitting the group for 15 minutes and shout around where the spoons should be left etc. Customers pay your bills so treat them that way. When we provided feedback to the person who seated us she just said thanks and walked off ... on another occasion we were waiting for 15 min at the bar trying to order a coffee but nobody was around so we left. The same day while eating dinner we asked for some parmesan never to see that person again...based on the service I would not recommend this hotel hence the 2 stars.

Dear Veronika, Thank you for taking the time to send us the feedback regarding your recent stay with us and I am sorry to hear that your stay didn't meet your expectations. I hope you kindly understand that we do have some clear procedures on welcoming and checking the guests at breakfast and the person who is doing the welcome might not be present at the welcome desk all the time as they might show other guests their table and explain about the buffet options. Regarding the spoons and tongues at the buffet, we have to make sure that each one of them are used for one type of food only in order to avoid cross contamination and for the health and safety off all the guests. Please rest assure that I will address all you concerns with our Restaurant Manager and the staff to make sure this will not happen again in the future. All the best, Ciprian Uivarosan
