The hotel is in the centre of the city, near everything. The staff is great. The spanish girl was very helpfull. The breakfast was great and the service even better. We only stayed one night, but we were delighted. Thank you very much.

The hotel was really nice. The receptionist very kindly upgraded us to a lovely big room with stunning views over Edinburgh and the Castle. The room was quite plain and a little outdated, but it was very comfortable and had a little settee and coffee table, a big bathroom with a shower over the bath and had all the usual...

Dined here whilst away on business and enjoyed a fabulous meal with exceptional service at a great price (although having a membership helps!) Thoroughly wonderful members club with superb views overlooking the Castle and gardens.

Party of three, stayed 4 nights. Lovely spacious bedrooms. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Evening meals very reasonably priced. Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Our waiter at breakfast was also friendly suggesting places of interest to visit. Our stay was exceptional value for money.

Booked this hotel for 1 night for my friend and I as a birthday treat for her. Location is Great, not far from the station. Staff were friendly, our room at the back of the hotel was clean, cosy and warm, quiet apart from people running up and down the stairs, we think our room was directly underneath the stair...

Stayed here for one night and would have no hesitation in booking again. Not far from station in an ideal location on Princes Street with fantastic views of the castle. Excellent value. Very friendly staff especially the guy at breakfast who is lovely and gives you plenty of info about local attractions. Yes there was quite a bit of street...

This hotel has an excellent location, not far from the station and near shops and the castle. Breakfast was very good, staff very attentive. Room was okay, the bed was comfy but some areas needed a lick of paint. The short blind at the window was rather unusual. There was a strange smell near the lift.

We stayed overnight at this hotel last weekend. The staff were friendly and approachable and the location perfect for the shops, market and castle. We stayed in room 12 (castle view) which was a little noisy at night due to the ill fitting window but didn't really disturb us. The hotel itself was OK but not amazing - we ate...

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
