On arrival the reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was well set out very clean and off a good standard. As it was January we took up the 2 night "winter warmer package". This included breakfast both mornings and a £30 each (£60) off the bill for a night in the a la carte restaurant. The chef...

Only stayed here one night, the hotel room was clean, great size & had all tea & coffee making facilities. I never used any other amenities that the hotel provided. Hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the Royal Mile & has restaurants and bars close by. I would stat here again.

Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room was spacious and clean; the bed was very comfortable. Apart from early morning banging of doors, from other guests, and the sound of the ducted air heating, it was quiet. Breakfasts offered choice and were well managed. A bar meal was pricey but plentiful. Although just off South Bridge, it's a quiet and...

We stayed here for two nights and the staff, room and food was second to none. All very good and lots of help from staff. We will be be staying here again on our next trip to Edinburgh. We have stayed in a few hotels in and around Edinburgh but this was without a doubt the very best.

Spacious clean room, friendly staff, very comfortable and the breakfast was very tasty and plenty of it. Hotel was in a good position and not far from the center. It was in a quieter location and no disturbances in the night

Excellent cleanliness, attentive friendly staff, quality food, superb location, quiet at night, first hotel I've been to in years where the room air conditioning actually works properly and is full controlled by. Will definitely stay here again.

We have been here several times over the years and love to return. The rooms are great, staff really friendly, decent breakfast! Also, they have a nice bar with a good selection of wines etc. Prices vary massively throughout the year but are great value in January!

Stayed in the hotel for a long weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Hotel is nice and clean and the staff are friendly. The breakfast was nice and plentiful. Hotel is situated near the university and about ten minute walk to the royal mile. The rooms are nice and clean, I would have given this a five star but the...

My first stay at the Ten Hill Place but will definitely be returning. I arrived by car around 5pm, initially concerned about getting parked in the dark that was soon alleviated by the helpful receptionist Jamie, he gave me a pass and I parked up easily. They only have 6 spaces charged at £15 per night but the hotel are...

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighbourhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighbourhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
