We booked our stay on the 30th nov 2016. Rooms are clean and tidy. Customer service are friendly and helpful too. It's a very good location with the train station just opposite and the bus station just bout 10mins walk. Good location to few sight seeing places especially the Edinburgh castle..

Me and my mum stayed here for 2 nights whilst in Edinburgh. We managed to check in earlier than the advertised time which was great. The hotel staff were very friendly. We opted not to have breakfast as for £9.50 that is very expensive considering there is a weatherspoons just on Waverley bridge where you can buy breakfast & a... More

Just 50 meters walk to the airport bus (100) stop and Waverly train station. 100 meters from Princess street. 100 meters to Royal Mile via Cockburn street. This hotel is located at an extremely convenient location. Good breakfast with lots of options. Large bathrooms. Excellent city view overlooking Christmas Market and Princess Street. Problems with wifi as it disconnects frequently.... More

Stayed here during the week as we had an early train to catch the next day. Checked in around 19:30 with no hassle even without having a copy of the invoice to say we had prepaid. Walking to our room you get the feeling of a storage facility. Endless white identical doors in an almost like maze but easy to... More

We spent 2 nights here while visiting the Christmas Market. The hotel is lovely and clean and you could not get a better location, two minutes walk to Princes Street and one minute from Waverley rail station. The only down side was that there is only a continental breakfast available. The room was spacious and the shower room was beautiful.... More

Nice modern budget hotel ideally located on the old town side of Waverley Bridge. Easy check in, pleasant staff, but slightly weird room placing if you're on the 6th floor - essentially in a separate building meaning two lift journeys and a long walk but hey ho. Had a very large room which was clean with a comfortable bed. It... More

Stayed here for 1 night and found it to be very good indeed. Better than a travel lodge, nicely decorated, good shower and bathroom, staff lovely and very helpful and it's so central. Will definitely stay here again

Booked via an external website. Very reasonable prices, extremely clean rooms and bathrooms, as well as communal areas. Thought I wouldn't be keen on the blue and brown colour scheme but it worked really well and I liked it a lot, especially in the bar area! Friendly greetings from reception staff whenever we were coming or going, check in and... More

We booked this last minute and got a superb deal. Great location literally outside of Waverley station. ***Top tip*** pay for a room with a view it's gorgeous looking over Princes Park! Especially with the markets being on! Only reason not 5* is because of the plugs in our room was an international one and also the noise from upstairs... More

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
