I called the hotel on the morning of our stay as we weren’t sure if we would be allowed in given Scotland had recently announced new COVID guidelines. . We were told the hotel is closed and they couldn’t see any record of our booking. We were then told we had been moved to The Scotsman Hotel which is supposedly a better hotel in a better location. However we were put in a room, nice though it was, that had fewer facilities than the one we booked. We also had to pay for parking- free parking was one of the key reasons we chose the murrayfield in the first place. We didn’t get to stay at the Murrayfield so I don’t feel able to really rate it but I just think people should be aware of this possibility that the hotel may be closed during your visit and you won’t be told unless you call.

Very nice room with view of the famous Murrayfield Stadium. Unfortunately the windows were not double glazed and so traffic noise from the main road disturbed our sleep, particularly when it went over what sounded like a loose manhole cover. Apart from that, a lovely stay in a clean, spacious, well-appointed room. Breakfast was limited to continental style, due apparently to Covid restrictions but was enjoyable nonetheless, with great coffee. Helpful and friendly staff.

Great experience. Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, lovely food. Will definitely be going back. Lovely attention to detail in the reception area and rooms. Bus stop just outside and short journey into city centre. Can't wait to sit outside on a lovely day with a gin and tonic.

Absolutley superb hotel. Gorgeous, clean rooms, comfy beds, helpful, friendly staff. We stayed in a family room, and a travel cot with extra mattress was provided free of charge. We will definetly be staying here again next time we are in Edinbrugh.

Spotless clean hotel, room smaller than expected however cosy, soap&co toiletries supplied are just beautiful (attention to detail from hotel) The most impressive part of the visit was the meal at the Bothy, absolutely worthy of a Michelin star review this evening! The place is under rated, it was absolutely delicious and well presented... a hidden gem. Pat our waitress was wonderful, a cut above effort and so pleasant to chat with. Professional and completely followed Covid regulations too... Pats an asset to this business. Great visit all round
