I feel a little mean giving the Hilton Edinburgh Carlton an 'average' rating. The hotel enjoys a central location, my room was not large but was of sufficient size and the bed was comfortable. There is a good chance that I will return.
We spent one night in the Hilton Edinburgh Carlton and really enjoyed our stay. Having stayed in most of the Hilton properties in Edinburgh, this was certainly the best we’ve stayed at in terms of location, amenities and ambience.
The hotel has been recently refurbished...More

I will no doubt return to Scotland. And the Edinburgh carlton is the only place I would consider. Elegant, comfortable and center of the city. You can get to anywhere within a few minutes walk, even bus or train to take you where you want...More

We had a very enjoyable stay in the Hilton. The accommodations were very nice, as expected. The lobby was a little awkward, very few places to sit comfortably and the stairs taking up most of the room. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location...More

Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
