Ideal location for short break in Edinburgh. Close to Princes Street and the castle and perfect if taking in a show at the Playhouse. The hotel is basic but comfortable and reception staff were super. Plenty of places close by for breakfast.

I tend to stay in many Travelodge hotels for work and most are daily decent, however the staff here were really warm and welcoming and fun, great humour and helpful local knowledge, please send them to train the Aberdeen staff in customer care as they'd benefit hugely from the Edinburgh team. Hotel was very clean and the location was perfect,...

It's a travelodge so you know what to expect , use as a bedroom and enjoy the location and you will be delighted.Staff welcoming and helpful facilities the minimum, room clean and functional. The location however is outstanding and given that we only paid £50 possibly can't be beaten for value of course it's not £50 every night. You will...

Went for Hogmanay festival and was an INCREDIBLE Location and the staff were incredibly helpful! I left an item behind at the hotel and even though I'd checked out the reception team and housekeeping were more than happy to help me out! Could not recommend enough!

Great location & only few minutes walk from train station & not far from royal mile & grassmarket. Is your standard travel lodge specification & entrance is tucked away in a back street but 4* as staff were friendly & location. Had a triple room & was spacious enough.

I enjoyed my stay at Travel Lodge Princess Street, nice spacious room with good view, in a busy part of town but double glazing meant not disturbed by noise. Comfortable bed, good bathroom and nice and warm throughout stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that we could only book for two nights as hotel...

Staff were friendly and accommodating. Great for a one nighter, right in the centre and so close to the train station. Would definitely recommend it anyone wanting an easy city night out with no hassles.

So I am staying here at the moment, I have to admit i was daunted by the entrance at first, but dont let it put you off. My room is completely spotless, the bed is so comfortable and the bathroom is lovely with a fab power shower. I have found the staff to be really friendly and genuinely interested in...

Our experience at Travelodge involved more than a place to sleep. The staff members offered us an exceptional customer service. They were genuinely nice and warm people who wanted to help as much as possible. Moreover, they offered us a cozy room with a beautiful view which had the perfect atmosphere for the new years day. Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
