Stayed in this hotel on a stag weekend. I can't really complain at all, the staff were great and it had everything we needed for the little time we spent in the hotel. The location of the hotel was perfect for us as it was handy to Rose street and pubs are not in short supply. If on the other...

Fun and helpful staff, unbeatable location, easy access to everything. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The reception area is on the 2nd floor (there is an elevator on Ground level), so the hotel entrance off the street is more subtle than you'd expect. The team does a bit of everything (compared to hotels with dedicated concierge desks,...

Lovely hotel and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Very clean and tidy. The castle is worth a visit but it's a hike, take the tour bus, save ure legs . The Royal yacht Brittania is another good attraction to visit. All in all a great weekend.

We have just returned from a weekend stay with 2 families of 5. Our 6 kids range from 10-4 so it can be quite hard work when away on a city break but ALL the staff in this hotel worked so hard to make our stay enjoyable. They pushed tables together, colouring for the kids, really patient with us when...

I would highly recommend this hotel. It is very clean, has great service and really helpful staff. The location is very central being easy to walk around the City, visit the local sites, and commute to the train station and airport very easily. The highlight of the visit for me was staying on the 6th floor with the most amazing...

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Premier Inn on Princes Street. Very comfortable accommodation in a superb location opposite Edinburgh Castle. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were very good - we especially enjoyed sitting at a window with a view of the castle. WiFi was also good. Can certainly recommend.

Our room was very cosy and I liked how you could change the temperature to anything you liked. You are well respected there and the food was delicious. Good choices of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I like it how you can go back for as much food and drink as you like at breakfastq. Croissants and pancakes are...

Stayed in lots of premier inns and usually love them but this is by far the worst one I have come across. Would rate 0 out of 5 if I could. Room is absolutely tiny, stinks of mould / damp, window looking out to nothing but a concrete wall and the bed is not comfy either which is unusual for...

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
