I stayed here with my study abroad group and it was fantastic. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They always had answers for our questions and suggestions on things to see in Edinburgh. The location is fantastic. This hostel is located directly in the city center and is a few minutes walk from the Royal Mile. My room was... More

Edinburgh merkezde kalacaklara tavsiye edilir, konumu harika. The staff were very helpful. The location is perfect. It is very near to train tram bus stations and shopping center and main stores besides festival events. The price is high. I stayed in a four bed two bunk bed room which is quite narrow. There is a free coffee and tea. Breakfast... More

I was in the Haggis Hostels for eleven nights so I can write that this hostel is amazing. It's cheap, clean and directly in the city center. The Showers, toilets, rooms and kitchen were always clean. There are enough separated showers so you can lock inside and you have one small room for your things and your own shower so... More

Very clean, very quiet, PERFECT location. Really couldn't have asked for anything else. Staff was very friendly and helpful - even carried my luggage down when I had to check out at 5:30 am! If I am fortunate to visit Edinburgh in the future, I will most definitely be staying at Haggis again

Had a great stay at the Haggis Hostel Edinburgh, which was interrupted by a brief episode of sickness, the whole team was friendly and helpful and didn't charge me when I checked out quite late. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy.

This is a great place to stay, great location, really close to the station, and the touristy areas. The breakfast is good, the place is clean, and the staff are all very friendly. Sonia, William and Jess are very helpful and enthusiastic. Haggis Hostels is a great place to stay, I'll definitely stay there again if I'm in the area.... More

Haggis Hostel is located just off Princes street, so in a very handy location without the noise of being right in the middle of things. The staff were all great; super friendly and accommodating. And they cooked us breakfast!! I feel like they really knew what was happening in the hostel all the time, and who people were, which definitely... More

Haggis Hostel is a wonderful place. The staff was incredibly friendly, very helpful, and went out of their way to make me feel at home. They offered me breakfast even though I was checking in that day, and didn't mind when I sat around using their wifi to plan the rest of my trip. Very nice, place. My only regret... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Haggis Hostel for one night. It was a great experience. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms, showers and bathrooms were very clean. It is right near the Waverly train station and a quick walk to all the wonderful sites and restaurants. We will definitely stay next time we visit :)

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
