Great old world near everything no problems at all. lovely hosts thank you very much Cant be too specific about value for dollar as we were there when some type of rugby world cup was on in Edinburgh and the hotel is just around corner from Murrayfield stadium and all hotels that weekend where at a premium

We stayed in the spacious three bed family room. Comfortable beds and clean and tidy bathroom. A warm welcome and keys to the front door and room so you can come and go with ease. Fantastic large Scottish breakfast in the morning sets you up for the day. Princes street is a 10-15 minute walk or you can use either...

Everything was fine when I stayed here the last couple of days. What let the place down was the black mould in my bathroom. The room was spacious with a nice comfortable bed and a good tv, but the shower hose and grout had quite a lot of black mould. Easy to remove but their cleaners hadn't bothered! The breakfast...

Do not stay in room 10. The bathroom is ancient with a very worn toilet seat, mouldy grouting, signs of damp and reminds one of a poor standar old people's home. The bathroom pictures on the website are totally misleading. The layout of the room was poor, with no mirror on the dressing table or that the hairdryer lead would reach...

The Edinburgh Lodge was in the most fantastic location, we left our car parked here and walked into the city. The area is very picturesque so it's a lovely walk in. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were lovely and extremely helpful with information on the area and tips of where to go. Would definitely stay here...

I have to disagree with the last couple of reviews. We had a lovely stay here for two nights earlier this week. The bedroom was clean and of a good size. The bed was very comfy with lovely pillows and a good size bathroom with plenty of shelf space and nice big fluffy towels. The hotel was really warm throughout....

We stayed for four nights and found it very comfortable. Reading reviews it seems the rooms may vary. We had a large bathroom and ample bedroom. We were out all day sightseeing. Because of this we didn't have breakfast either. A lovely walk to Water of Leith across to modern art galleries. Very helpful friendly staff. I'm a bit perplexed...

Have just spent three nights at this hotel and need 3 days sleep to catch up on what we missed. Rooms are spacious and clean but the floor squeaks every time somebody walks on it, so think people coming in up to 04.00 and the floor squeaking! Also the walls on rooms are paper-thin not what we expected in an...

Whilst the staff were very friendly and the location was good a number of factors really let the hotel down and made it impossible to believe that it was a three star establishment let alone the four star it claims to be. Outdated furnishings, flickering fluorescent lights, a worn out bathroom and stained towels led to a disappointing experience and...

The staff here are so lovely and friendly and really made us feel so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! I had waffles with bacon and it was so yummy. Although the room is very outdated and old fashioned, it was interesting and an experience to stay in! The room was very spacious however the bathroom was very small. The shower was...
