Excellent staff. We felt very confident because when we asked them questions, we would receive thorough answers and suggestions. They were very helpful with hiring taxi cabs and printing tickets from emails for us. The room was very clean. The murals on the bedroom wall and in the bathroom were a fun touch. The location of our hotel was convenient to much. We were 1.5 miles from walking the Royal mile. There were eating locations one block from the hotel. (Almost all of them require a reservation, however.) Excellent place to stay.
I'm not sure if this is because the hotel was packed and they were mostly busy but the staff at the front desk werent very friendly or didnt do anything to make one feel comfortable when arriving and while waiting for the hotel room. When I finally arrived to the room I noticed stains in the window curtains and in the bathroom countertop. Also be aware the tubs are inclined and that you need to be extremely careful when going out of the same so you dont slip and fall. The location of the hotel is centralized in middle edinburg. Close to the airport and all other tourist attractions (Castle), princess street, Grassmarket. There are also a lot of commeerce and restaturants nearby.
Stayed here two nights and found the room to be airy (with a window that opened which was a plus) tv, iron, hairdrier, toiletires etc provided. Beds very comfy. Little quirky decor details throughout hotel. Ten minute walk to Princes Street. Staff very helpful and friendly. Easy check-in. Would stay again.
Leonardo Hotel Haymarket is well placed to wander around Edinburgh's sights. Good rooms at a great price and the Breakfast option is a must. There is an upgrade option for £30 a night that's worth looking at. Overall it's clean and comfortable.
Great hotel, 15 minutes walk from central Edinburgh. The hotel is very clean and organised. We had an executive room which was ample for the 3 of us. Breakfast was amazing plenty of choice. All the staff were so helpful and friendly giving us lots of info on public transport places to eat etc. the hotel has air conditioning which was ideal as the weather was very warm. Checked in and out online very smooth no problems at all.
The hotel is ok, but it’s just ok. Very tired looking, lots of paintwork chipped, stained walls and carpets. Breakfast had a good selection, but the cooked food should be better quality considering it’s suppose to be a 4 star hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Pleasant stay, room clean but attention to detail required for the money charged. Room quiet. Bed very comfortable. Only 3 hangers. Had to ask for toiletries as wall dispensers empty. No other toiletries which again for the cost I would have expected. No mattress protector, sheets didn’t quite fit, no pillow protectors either. No water in room, and room service not available for breakfast. Had breakfast first morning, avoided after that as took ages to refill so little choice. Comfortable but over priced as above things missing.
Be careful this hotel is a con, charge you one price online then you have to pay 3 times more when you get there, after booking . Day light robbery . Avoid Avoid Avoid Will never use this hotel again, shocking management, unclean room, stained carpets , sockets hanging from the wall, ruined a good night away. If O was a rating it would get that. After other peoples opinions of breakfast in the morning we avoid the breakfast too. A hostel sounds/ would of better after staying at this hotel
We had several problems. Check in took about 20 minutes, I think this was because there was a trainee and it took for ever. Unfortunately the web check in did not work for us so had to use the regular check in. Daniel was a breeze in the morning indicating that our room would be ready at 2PM but when I returned at that time...it was a pain. Getting the keys for our 2 rooms, paying with credit card for each room, the lady asking questions to Liam in every step of the process because she would not understand what the system was indicating (such as online breakfast that we had purchased). We had requested connecting rooms and were told that there would be no connecting rooms but that our small kids would be next to our room. When we were given room 229 and 262 I asked if they were close and the lady indicated they indeed were close. When I saw the distance between our room and our kids room....I thought it was a joke. Cleaning: The room was dirty on our arrival. Dinner at the restaurant: Our first night we had dinner at the restaurant and food came cold, several servings were ordered only to get the waiter 5-10 mins after that indicating that "we ran out of them" which was frustrating. Also, when asked for the bill they had included the items not available so our bill went from 90 GBP to 66GBP.... Breakfast was crazy busy. Had to wait 20min standing for a table. There was a very nice Peruvian lady who took care of us once seated but getting there, queuing for everything...was disappointing. I think the fact that they had so many guests had an influence on our stay and probably several other guests as well. It seems they were overwhelmed by this situation.…
This hotel needs some major help in staff training and upgrades and repairs. Broken/cracked bathroom sink Sandpaper bath towels Air Con did not work Bed sheets did not fit around the mattress, revealing yellowed mattress with red marker writing, no protector Bed pillows were cheap and hard with no protector (gross) Breakfast was average to a bit above poor quality The only positive was the location…
