It’s a Marriott so you know all the facilities will be there and the room is super comfortable. Everything works, and the ambience is bright and cheerful. There’s free parking and a gas station right over the road to refuel rental cars. It’s literally 4 mins drive from the airport. What made our stay particularly pleasant was the attitude of two front desk staff, Matthew and Alison, who arranged a very early breakfast for us and were generally very welcoming and friendly. Thanks guys!
Visited here to celebrate my Father’s 95th birthday since regular restaurants were closed. Very nice staff at checkin, rooms were very comfortable. We booked a slot at the pool and were enjoying our swim when another family came in which was odd as I thought that different households were not meant to mingle in any indoor setting. Given my Father is in a high risk age group we left. I asked the receptionist at the Health club and she was a bit vague about how many people/households were allowed in the pool. We did have a nice dinner and the hotel had said it was ok to bring a cake so my Dad enjoyed his cake and candles before we headed back to our rooms. Breakfast was ok but the eggs were rather bland. Overall a good stay with very nice staff.
We popped up to Edinburgh just before the second lockdown started and booked into the Marriott out towards the airport. Just to record that from start to finish the service and approach was impeccable. All the usual nice touches when you have some Bonvoy status were retained and despite the complexities of social distancing breakfast was a really well ordered and structured, PROPER, breakfast to relax at a weekend. Would really like to call out one staff member, Alison on reception, as exemplifying the Marriott brand. Aside from a slight concern that she is/was working 7 x 24 hours, nothing was a problem and she was ultra-considerate and helpful. Genuinely made the trip for us, thank you... you are a great credit to the hotel. One last point: many properties - not just Marriott - are apparently throwing in free breakfasts and whilst it is commendable that thy are trying to gain business, they are not prepared with either the right facilities nor right number of staff to meet this demand. Some of these experiences in the last month have been, frankly, horrific. Edinburgh Marriott hence was a beacon of professionalism. Thank you!…
Stayed here for 2 nights as we were visiting the zoo and other hotels in the area did not have their pool open, we were so glad we did. Rooms were very spacious and bed comfortable. Breakfast was a bit slow and evening menu was limited due to government restrictions however food was delicious. Kids loved the swimming and the guys in the leisure centre were very friendly and helpful. The staff here were excellent, nothing was too much, superb customer service and a big thanks to Nikos at reception. Would love to see what this place would be like outwith pandemic.
Enjoyed our staycation in Edinburgh for two nights. This was our second stay here but first time post covid. Can't fault hotel at all. We ate here both nights and the bar staff were very friendly and food was tasty. Liked the smell of the hand sanitizer! Managed a session at the pool and despite the jacuzzi not being open , my son enjoyed his splash around. Will definitely come back for our next trip to Edinburgh as the hotel is convenient for us and has the swimming pool which my child enjoys. All staff are lovely and a real asset to the hotel.
