Donny was on hand straight away to make us feel very welcome. Apartment location was fantastic. The apartment was as advertised - clean, spacious and cosy with super views over the city. Beds were super comfy and plenty of towels to go round. The purpose of our visit was to venture round the bright lights of Edinburgh's city and have... More

Absolutely fabulous apartment. It has everything you need to cook in if you want. Why go out when you have all to need to cook and stay in lovely surroundings and it even has a Dishwasher! Tesco is a short walk away.

The apartment is located very closed to the city centre (15/20 minutes from Princes Street) and it has all the features that you look for during a stay: cleaness, warmness, fully equipped and great price! I already know where to go if I come back to Edinburgh.

The apartment we booked wasn't available so they gave us a bigger one. It was clean, warm and really comfortable. They explain us everything about the flat and the area. I will definitely come back...

I would give 5 stars if the wifi for our apartment on the underground level was better. Please improve on it. An additional tumble dryer would make this place a must go to for anyone visiting Edinburgh. Overall pleasant, clean, spacious friendly staffs

Beautiful apartment. Perfect central location, beautifully decorated, great views of the city and owner so helpful. We used it as a base for a conference but it would be amazing for a break with the family as incredibly big. We'll be back!!

We booked on line and were we pleased with the Place. It was exceptional. Traveling with 2 cars 2 families, we were greeted at the door and told that the Car Park across the street was the best parking. Unloaded and shown down the stairs, bottom appartment. Wow it was huge, clean, fresh everything and more you could want. 2... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Edinburgh staying at York place. The apartment was clean and comfortable, close to shops, bars and restaurants and on a bus route. We are already planning our next visit.

Staying in Broughton & Calton

Neighbourhood Profile
Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton have long been transitional neighbourhoods with a mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything but overt along bustling epicentre Broughton Street; even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The top of Leith Walk is more ragged. This major thoroughfare boasts a famously gritty gay club, as well as a strip of good Indian restaurants. Regal Georgian and Victorian townhouses preside over largely deserted streets in Calton, where only the occasional restaurant or hotel brings much life. Even so, a steady trickle of idlers and picnickers pass by to climb Calton Hill for its wide-open lawns, wonderful city views, and curious monuments – an Athenian-style temple among them.
