Booked Afternoon Tea for 6 using a deal available via Itison. The booking process was friendly over the phone and upon arrival we were given a warm welcome and shown to our table at the window. The views were magnificent and a great spot to people watch! We were told there was a choice of various sandwich options - tuna...

The service was excellent, food was good with good sized portions, our room was at the back, so no views to speak of but we spent very little time in the hotel as we were there to see Edinburgh. The location of the hotel is great for sight seeing.

Lovely room on seventh floor. Very clean and warm and comfortable. Lovely buffet breakfasts. You can eat as much or as little as you wish. Friendly and helpful staff. So convenient to the shopping areas and right on Princess Street. A most enjoyable stay in a beautiful city.

Wonderful situation in the heart of Edinburgh. Walked to most of the regular sights. Buffet breakfasts were reasonable but the vegetables for the evening dinners were never up to scratch - either overcooked, soggy or tasteless. Fish was not badly prepared but the meat was tough. I was on a coach tour and perhaps the regular guests did better. Don't...

Great location, great view of castle and Princes Street Gardens at breakfast and good selection of food available. My only complaint was the time to be seated at breakfast. Having to wait for tables to be set up didn't seem to be enough staff to clear tables.

Edinburgh very interesting and varied city. the visit to Royal Yacht Britannia well worth visiting, need at least 3 hours to do it justice. The city of Edinburgh easy city to get round providing you don't mind walking up and down hills.

Found the room to be very small, especially for the price we paid. No other complaints about the room, although the view of the fire escape wasn't what we were expecting. I understand that not every room can have a great view though. That said, the views from the restaurant were superb, and the staff tried to give people window...

Stayed overnight in a twin room with my mother. The room was adequate without being fancy and there was enough room to move around. The decor and bathroom looked a little tired but it was clean. I was a bit worried when we arrived at the same time as a noisy stag party but we weren't disturbed during the night....

Stayed mid week on business and its been 2 years since last stay (wasn't impressed last time). I had an excellent room this time. Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
