Just visiting Edinburgh for one night. Got a great deal through agoda . Staff were so friendly and helpful. Car parking and great room. Highly recommended for a different Edinburgh trip. Lots of places to walk and great public transport links

I have stayed here twice recently, once in November 2016 and again in December 2016 just before Hogmanay. It tends to be a bit cheaper than the other hotels in Edinburgh, presumably because of the location. The hotel is situated in Leith which is out of the city centre so depending on what you are doing it is not always...

we stayed here for one night in a standard double room and it was a very pleasant stay. The room was nicely decorated, the bed was huge and very comfortable, brand new tv in the room too which was fab. Staff were friendly, overall it was wonderful

Enjoyed an overnight stay in a superior double room, hotel has been revamped from the last time I was here and is very nicely finished. Slept well, nice view out over the water. Breakfast was a bit of a let down, we had to eat in the bar as it was very busy, staff were very nice but the cooked...

Lovely hotel, good quality beds and furnished nicely. Breakfast excellent and staff friendly. Very quiet, heavy walls and doors so not disturbed by other guests noise. Good location with some fab restaurants nearby. Easy walk to ocean terminal and Britannia. Had a slight issue on checking out, they tried to charge us extra even though we had pre-paid everything online,...

Stayed on a deal with 2 course dinner and a bottle of wine. Room was very nice, refurbishment has been worth it. Dinner was good, although portions are small. All was fine till i asked to settle the difference for my dinner bill. They wanted me to sign a full bill without deductions for our dinner allowance and wine. I...

arrived at 2pm, having driven for a couple of hours and our rooms were ready, great start to the weekend, staff were friendly, helpful and helped direct me to park the car in the hotel car park (it's a wee bit of a warren around Leith). The room was bright, spacious and had all the amenities (and more) than we...

Stayed here for 4 nights and was disappointed-the design is bad as the toilet opens onto the bed-the window doesn't open-desperately in need of maintenance and a good clean-requested a disable room and was told that all rooms had access to the lifts but first thing in the morning the next day the fire alarm went and my inlaw struggled...

We stay to be in Leith with its great restaurants. We had a suite which was updated but bathroom omitted from the makeover which was a mistake. It's ok here but nothing more. Maybe they could have spent more on the revamp. Lift in front of building painfully slow.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It's the mother of all Malmaison's. The former house of ill-repute now has a reputation that's second to none, and it's also just a short taxi ride away from Waverley Station. Malmaison Edinburgh bides at Leith (as they say up here), just a stone's throw from the Royal Yacht Britannia, but offering far more funky luxury. Yes, when you want exciting hotels in Edinburgh, this is the King, not the castle. Our Edinburgh hotel puts you close to all of Edinburgh's cobbled splendours, incredible shopping and famous galleries. Then it's back to Mal for Scots dining with a twist, a fine selection of single malts and mojitos in the bar and then back to the slinkiest and most spectacular rooms in the Scots capital. ... more   less
