Like all the hotels in this group this one is very nice. Comfortable beds, big rooms, a nice restaurant and well stocked bar. This one is in the up-and-coming area of Leith just by the old docks, so it has some nice bars and places to eat just close by. It's also only a short taxi ride from the hotel...

Lovely stay at the Malmaison Edinburgh. Booked a twin room at a fantastic rate for a girls weekend away. Room a great size. Twin rooms have two single beds joined together. This was ok for us but might not be suitable for others. Although I understand they can be moved if requested. Friendly staff and free car park. Easy to...

We visited this hotel for our anniversary, we stayed in the club room, it was more expensive and other than a little bit more space I couldn't see why. Other than that the room had lovely decor and the bed was lovely!! Unfortunately we were woken up at 8am by someone trimming the hedges outside. The staff are very friendly...

Me and a group of friends ate here as part of a hen weekend we were on over the new year. Food was amazing and we all really enjoyed it. There was a help yourself buffet of meats, cheeses and salads etc but the best thing was the mushroom soup. It was the best soup I've ever had. Most of...

Hubby had the soup as well which he reckons is as good as his (honest that's good). Main meals were lovely, I had beef stroganoff which was amazing. the hubby had fish cake...

Firstly, the negatives. The hotel is difficult to find. Our sat nav took us to an adjacent cul de sac and we needed to get the map out to to get to what looked like the hotel. Even then, parked up and needed to walk up to the doors to see if we were correct. Malmaison don't have neon signs...

Right on the waterfront in Leith in a historic building an overnight stay with dinner, bed and breakfast. Staff were helpful with advice on parking and which bus to get to take us to Holyrood. It took us a little time to find the hotel because of discreet signage. Dinner was of good quality with a choice of set menu...

Nice building and for leith in a good location near the office buildings, ocean terminal and restaurants. Have stayed here about 5 times over 2016 due to a nearby office location. Although they wouldnt know it as you get asked to provide all your details every time you stay.... Hotel itself is nothing special. It seems to try to do...

We stayed at Malmaison in January and took advantage of their special January offer (2 nights + breakfast + dinner on 1st night) The offer was great value for money without skimping on any of the quality or high service. Food was delicious, rooms comfy and there was parking just beside the hotel which was excellent. The staff at the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It's the mother of all Malmaison's. The former house of ill-repute now has a reputation that's second to none, and it's also just a short taxi ride away from Waverley Station. Malmaison Edinburgh bides at Leith (as they say up here), just a stone's throw from the Royal Yacht Britannia, but offering far more funky luxury. Yes, when you want exciting hotels in Edinburgh, this is the King, not the castle. Our Edinburgh hotel puts you close to all of Edinburgh's cobbled splendours, incredible shopping and famous galleries. Then it's back to Mal for Scots dining with a twist, a fine selection of single malts and mojitos in the bar and then back to the slinkiest and most spectacular rooms in the Scots capital. ... more   less
