We have stayed at the sister hotel the Witchery a few times and decided to try here for a change. The rooms are similar in style, but maybe not quite as gothic. Still very warm and cosy feeling. The Witchery is probably better known for its restaurant than its fabulous rooms. The Prestonfield I think is the opposite. For me...

Try your best to stay here when in Edinburgh. It is a stately old home that is charming and an excellent hotel. The rooms are wonderfully decorated! The grounds are impeccable as well. The entire feeling was one of graciousness. The restaurant: service perfect! food excellent! wine great! No worries.

My wife & I stayed on the night of the 4th Sept in Room 2 - a wonderful ground floor room with a great garden view. The decor is very fitting with the style of the remainder of the hotel. We both thouroughly enjoyed our stay again & would recommend the hotel to all.

First time in Scotland. The hotel was booked by a good friend of ours so we did not know what to expect. As it was a very highly rated hotel, we expected to find a snobby over-priced etc. hotel. Immediately upon arrival, we were taken by the super friendly, down to earth staff in kilts. It almost felt like we...

What can I say about Prestonfield? It's expensive, luxurious, a bit tricky to find but, more than this, it's an absolute delight. We have just returned from my niece's wedding there, in the stables, and we stayed in the Lord Provost suite. We loved everything; the setting is beautiful, staff are attentive and helpful, rooms are luxurious, breakfast was delicious...

Ever want to feel like royalty? Well, at Prestonfield, they delivered, big time. My wife and I spent a night there for my 40th birthday this week and were treated to an experience unlike anything I've ever experienced. The staff was amazing, the Provost Suite was lush and the restaurant (Rhubard) was decadent. Could not have asked for anything better.

Absolutely wonderful although I was only a guest for the day/evening. Well attended grounds. All the rooms are beautifully utilised. I'm particularly taken with some of the antler seating in the whiskey room. Very indulgent surroundings and food.

Had a very authentic and delicious traditional 5 course Scottish dinner here. The atmosphere was wonderful, service was faultless, and the food excellent. The haggis dish paired with Scottish single malt whisky was the best I even had. Really enjoyed the whole experience.

This hotel is beautiful and full of atmosphere of a bygone age. We visited for my nephew's wedding tea. On arrival we sat outside in the sunshine sipping champagne. Lovely grounds. Dainty sandwiches with scrumptious fillings were followed by homemade scones with homemade raspberry jam which was out of this world.
