We were married here 23 years ago and have been visiting on a regular basis ever since. The food is impeccable, the staff couldn't be more helpful and the decor is outstanding. My favorite dessert of all time was eaten here - Apple soup!

Having dined at the Prestonfield on numerous occasions previously we thought we would treat ourselves to an overnight stay. From the time we stepped out our car until we left the following morning the service we received was impeccable. Our room exceeded our expectations. It was sumptuously decorated and was beautifully furnished. The furnishings were ornate and of the highest...

What a place. Small, personal, friendly, opulent, quiet, appointed & very, very tasteful. Standards are high at Prestonfield, from the unassuming kilted welcome at the door to the world class cuisine in the restaurant (Rhubarb). This was a Christmas present from my wife. She was concerned in case I didn't like it as I spend a lot of time in...

Four of us stayed here for a special birthday celebration and the whole experience surpassed our expectations, from the historic building, stylish interior, fabulous food, beautiful grounds and fantastic staff. Would fully recommend a stay here and hope to return in the future for special celebrations.

Plush and comfortable boutique hotel, providing more individual attention than the bigger 5 alternatives. Wall to wall character and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the rooms are small but luxurious. Excellent, fresh breakfast.

From the moment we arrived until our departure two nights later, the service was unparalleled. Every request was attended to and every conversation was human and personal. The room was gorgeous and had everything you could require and more. Breakfast, dinner and after-hours dining were perfectly indulgent yet healthy and beautifully presented --both for my carnivore husband and myself as...

I hope this review does not get ready by many people. I say that because I fear the next time I book I will not get a room. I don't want to denigrate any fans of minimalism, but this is not the place for you. And for those reading this who are fans of minimalism, denigrate means put down). It...
