We really enjoyed our stay, from the complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival to the easy check out. We loved the extra comfy bed, amazing rain shower and the thoughtful snacks and mini bar in our room. The breakfast and the rooftop restaurant were fabulous, Staff were also super helpful and attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and will certainly stay there again when I return, location is perfect for city sites and transport to airport.
This was a wonderful hotel. Despite being in the Old Town district of Edinburgh, this was a relatively new building, although the outside was built to try and keep with the traditional appearance of the rest of the Old Town buildings. However, inside, it was fantastically laid out. The reception and champagne bar on the 7th floor had lovely furnishings and provided a fabulous view of the Edinburgh skyline. We booked a "roomy" room and it was marvellous. A superbly comfortable bed and wonderful amenities. The free mini-bar and treats, which are replenished daily, is a nice touch. I mean, who can resist free tea cakes! The layout of the room was very classy with a terrific shower. The corridors were well laid out with fine carpet and beautiful artwork, which helped made the place feel cozy. The breakfast choices and the quality of the food is first rate. What really helps this hotel give it the wow factor though are the staff. They are simply amazing. Very friendly and accommodating. They couldn't do enough for you. I think the hotel is amazingly priced for its location and we will be staying there again on our next visit to Edinburgh.…
Fantastic stylish, clean, warm, friendly Hotel in great location with amazing views from bar area. Great staff, fabulous welcome, top class service all made our stay memorable and thoroughly enjoyable. Defo be back 👍
My husband and I booked an overnight stay for my birthday. We had a lovely welcome from two gentlemen at reception and offered a complementary glass of champagne which was a lovely touch. There was a birthday card in our room which was very kind, thank you. Great location just opposite the train station, although we parked at the long stay Waverley car park costing £17.50 for 24 hours which we thought was a great deal as you're given 20% discount for staying at hotel. Room was lovely, comfortable bed,we stayed on level 5 which had a good view of city. The Dyson hairdryer and GHD straighteners were also a great touch and the shower is just amazing! Finally breakfast, great choice of continental then offered hot breakfast which was so tasty. We will definitely be returning and can't wait to book our next stay. Thank you!…
Excellent hotel very handy for exploring city. Staff very friendly and everywhere spotlessly clean. The bar is lovely and has an excellent view over city. This is also where breakfast is served. The champagne on arrival was a lovely touch.
This hotel was a delight - excellent customer service, great location, fabulous view from the room and bar and everything you could need for a very comfortable stay. Particularly appreciated the free minibar (though didn't even consume that much), the good quality, comfy bed, lovely shower and hair dryer and straighteners. Lighting could be better in the bathroom area but a minor gripe in an otherwise top notch hotel.
The Market Street is a beautiful hotel, perfectly located in the heart of Edinburgh with easy access to Waverly station and just a short walk to major attractions. The rooms are spacious/comfortable, and the champagne upon check-in is a lovely touch. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My daughter and I had an early flight back to the US. The front desk made the arrangements for our taxi and kindly offered to pack us a light breakfast. We'll be back!!
Even on a cold winters day there is always a good selection of stalls selling a wide variety of goods from fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, clothes, pet food and other pet supplies, towels etc for the home, fancy goods, jewellery, meat, fish, plants and flowers, all in a place in the venter of town. This market is a Royal Charter Market and has bee around for over a thousand years, since 1122 in fact. There is usually at least one street entertainer, sometimes more near or in the market and a least one burger van, a jacket potato van, a Greek street food van, many clothing stalls with a stall selling goods for a variety of charities, tech accessories. On Fridays it is the farmers/ bric-à-brac market. Only very rarely, ie bank holidays or when the weather or during a pandemic is it cancelled or truncated. Well worth a visit…
Nice hotel with a perfect location in old-town close to all city-higlights and close to public transport. Very nice rooms; good breakfast and a friendly staff. Nice roof-top restaurant and bar with at perfect view towards New-town.
We've just returned from a 2 night stay in a beautiful "Roomy" room at Market Street and we were very impressed by our stay. Our room was spacious and very comfortable (the most amazing beds). Breakfast was stunning both mornings with continental self service and hot breakfast cooked to order. Also the Nor Loft coffee provided by Geroge St coffee house (situated about 30 seconds from the hotel) was simply the nicest coffee. The complimentary mini bar (fizzy drinks, water, beer, cider and fresh milk) was a lovely touch. As were the local snacks provided in the room. Despite the mini bar not being refillable, room service kindly topped up the water we'd drank on night one. Finally, a thank you to Market Street for the complimentary champagne in our room for our birthday. It was a very kind gesture.…
