Really enjoy coming to this hotel for a bite to eat , lovely atmosphere and food great ! The sea bass is my favourite, staff very helpful and polite and great value for money . We sit in the spacious conservatory at back , looking into the nice garden . The bar at front is mostly locals who are very...

Great people, staff and food but should really be BYOB! Been in a number of times and food is nice, staff are very nice but recently they seem to run out of most drinks. Feel for the staff who are left to face the music when clearly it is not their fault.

I have now been here several times for the food and it's been magnificent every time! The chef is brilliant :) j would defo recommend the nachos and bruchetta, my partner loves the curry! We also held my mums 50th in the conservatory here and it was perfect for what we required! It didn't cost unless a buffet was required...

We decided to try here after no being for years and heard that new owners had taken over. It was the worse decision ever. The food was horrendous. The 3 fish dinners we ordered were burnt to inch of their lives and not edible. The waiter had the cheek to serve them and expected them to be eaten! The fish...

Stayed for two nights - room was OK but very basic - came down for breakfast to find everything locked up - no breakfast as no staff. The following morning they had tried a little harder but the table was set in the bar so I declined and went and had breakfast in Jenners instead. New owners need to address...

Booked conservatory to take family and friends to, after a family bereavement. From start to finish the owners and staff were very professional. Great buffet, good selection of sandwiches etc and of a good standard. Bar service was really good. Would definitely visit here again to try lunches and meals. This place did themselves proud on a difficult day for...

Just visited the Ellwyn Hotel for the second time this month for lunch which was very nice a big change in food since it was taken over by new management. Much larger menu, pleasant staff who are starting to make improvements to the hotel which it badly needed.

Just visited the Ellwyn hotel for Mother's Day meal. This hotel is under new management and the change in management / menus is a vast improvement. We were a party of 6 adults and 1child and nothing was too much trouble. Most of us had the 2course Sunday special of roast gammon and there was not one complaint and the...
