Delighted with our stay at McCraes. Room was very comfortable and spacious along with a large ensuite. The B&B has real charm, the peace and quiet was extraordinary for somewhere that is so close to the city center, it has to be experienced to be believed. It really helped us to unwind , go at a slower pace and really...

McCraes is one of the best B and B's I have ever stayed in. Our room was immaculate: high quality furnishings and deco. John our host, not only cooked a first class breakfast, but also gave us great advice re restaurants and places to visit. We felt welcomed into this lovely home. A gem of a place to stay in...

Thank you for such a great review Anthea. I'm very pleased you and your family enjoyed your stay so much, especially as I felt I hadn't seen very much of you because you were definitely making the most of every second you had in our fantastic city :). I look forward to your next visit. John

This is now our Edinburgh home away from home. Everything about McRae's was exactly what we needed. Room was huge with very comfortable beds. Large bathroom and shower. Breakfast was perfect and John was a great host. McRae's is in an excellent location no more than 15 minutes to any of the main sites. I highly recommend this. I have...

This is a delightful four room B&B in an excellent, quiet location about a ten minute walk to the center (and a bit farther to the old town). The host, John, was very responsive in communication and lives downstairs, so is present and responsive at the property. The rooms--we got to see them all--are modern and updated. We had a...

Very good value for money and a well equipped room, including six foot bed - I slept so well!! Excellent porridge for breakfast. Thank you John, especially for your help with parking...

I stayed here recently with a friend and her teenaged daughter. John, the host, couldn't have been kinder or more helpful, accommodating all our requests cheerfully and even helping me figure out our travel for the next leg of our journey on his computer. The location is an easy fifteen-minute walk to the city center, although there are also plenty...
