A comfortable hotel with modern decor in a convenient location for Morningside. Staff were very helpful with WiFi issues. Only minor point is that there is no breakfast, and no car parking, but there are plenty of cafes nearby.

Lovely suite, The Wallace, which overlooks the bustling Morningside Road, which, to be fair, can be moderately noisy late at night or early in the morning. Clean, well appointed, spacious room / bathroom. Nothing is too much trouble for the (family) team and, of course, there is the unique Canny Man pub itself to enjoy a quiet drink or an excellent meal in. Morningside itself has plenty to offer and it is on multiple bus routes into the centre, or 15 minutes by taxi. Excellent value, would thoroughly recommend.

We have stayed at The Lane hotel a few times and this time was as lovely as ever despite the limitations of COVID. Everything was clean, tidy and luxurious. We didn’t even feel like we needed to leave this time

We will be staying in Morningside allot over the next few months and decided to pick this hotel for our first stay. My mum and stepdad stayed on Monday the 10th of August and myself and my boyfriend stayed on Thursday the 13th of August. All of us loved our stay. The rooms are beautiful and really well decorated ( I even googled and found the lamp that was in my room and bought it for my house - thank you ) The Canny Man next door is my new favourite place. Really cosy pub. The food is amazing, would recommend the steak, it was lovely! The staff are really nice too. The price of this hotel is so reasonable for the standard you are getting. We loved it so much we have booked again for September. Two rooms are booked so far with possibly another two rooms adding on soon. Thanks for a lovely stay and see you again soon x

We had a one night stay while visiting Edinburgh for a show. It is a bit unusual in that there is no reception however we were quickly dealt with when we went into the Canny Man, and escorted to our room, with time given to explain all the facilities on offer.. Nicely decorated, fresh and clean. Cracking shower. No breakfast on site however there was several recommendations for local places, one of which we used, and found the breakfast to be top quality. Onsite parking is limited however we did not have a problem parking nearby. A lively area with lots of different local shops. Well worth a visit if you are looking for something a little out of the Centre of Edinburgh. Liked the proactive approach of the owners. We will be back to try the Canny Man for dinner, and some of the many malts on the gantry.
