I stayed here as I was going to a party in the area. Sizeable double room with wardrobe and a small shower room. Toiletries and towels. I had fish and chips in the restaurant, which was very nice. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast the next day was basic but fine. For the price, I think this is... More

We had a family meal there recently. Staff were great & understanding to all our needs. Food was such a let down with hyped up prices and frozen chips. My steak was served on a wooden platter ... so 80's & germ ridden. Too many notices telling me what I can or can't do. A very expensive evening. Won't be... More

We had a Birthday party celebration for 40 people at the Northfield and the staff were superb. They could not have been more helpful and efficient. We had vegetable broth with bread and a finger buffet, everything was tasty and fresh and the delicious doughnuts were amazing. Thanks to Michelle and her team for making it a very enjoyable experience... More

My wee self and partner dropped off to have meal in the conservatory restruarant, and decided to enjoy one of the special two course meals for £10 , excellent value and really welcoming staff and can take as long as you want, without in any way feels rushed, and great welcome. Family owned business and great to know that good... More

I stayed one night here on business in November 2014. I arrived late and had to leave before breakfast. The room was fine and the service was good. The room rate, was very good for Edinburgh. Breakfast was from 8am to 9am which just doesn't work for business people. However, when I arrived after 9pm they had no difficulty in... More

Stayed here on business and booked through booking.com. The reception is small and a little old but ok. The rooms were large and well furnished with a clean bathroom. Furnishing was idea but not bad for that. I like the space to move I get in these hotels. There was no bath, only a shower which was the only fault... More

Lunch with my daughter and 2 elderly relatives was nice, but not fantastic. We expected to be in the conservatory but had not actually booked it so were put into a small dining room which was very quiet at first and then very noisy when a party came in. To sum up, we all thought there was quite a small... More

The breakfast was delicious, the staff was the friendliest and the most efficient that I have found in any of my traveling experiences, the bed was very comfortable, I never did hear my neighbors so the walls made our room quiet and private, and they cleaned our room every day. I love this hotel and I would love to go... More

Live locally so have had a few meals in here. It appears on the face of it to be a fairly basic pub grub menu but there are actually some real gems in there. The cod and chorizo special is amazing (if you like spicy). And the menu changes quite regularly so new dishes are always appearing. The value for... More

I stay in Northfield House Hotel when I am visiting family in Edinburgh. I have found it to be friendly, comfortable and good value for money. It is convenient to the city center by a frequent bus service - 20 mins gets you there. Bus stop just across the road from the hotel! The rooms are comfortable, well kept and... More
