Nice place, close to the city centre and good bus routes to the popular princess street and the airport. It was also immaculately clean with staff to alsways assist if need be. There are fast food shops around and a Tesco just around the corner
Really it's hard to find fault with a room this close to the centre of Edinburgh for such a good rate!! I think I got very lucky to get a room in Edinburgh for almost the same price as staying in a Youth Hostel, thanks Corona!! I must admit I didn't have amazingly high expectations for my first stay at a Travelodge but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was basic but spacious (looked a bit bare because of this) and the building and local area were beautiful. The room had a great view out to the West end and the linen and bed was very comfortable. It was great to have a bath as well as a shower. The WIFI worked well. I brought my own hairdryer but one is available on request if you need one and the toiletries are basic shower gel/shampoo and hand wash. The reception wasn't always manned but that wasn't a problem for me. Hard to find fault for the price, would recommend. …
Stayed here for a couple of days while visiting Edinburgh.5 minute walk to bus stops that take you to city centre or the zoo.theres a Tesco Express a few minutes walk from hotel so we stocked up on breakfast, snacks ect here as the hotel restuarant wasnt open due to covid.room was clean, bed was comfy and would definitely stay here again
We stumbled across this hidden gem last year.Only 5 minutes walk from Haymarket with its bustling bars , shops, restaurants and train station yet set back on a period residential crescent and as result blissfully quiet.Wonderful spacious room.Hotel spotlessly clean and Covid compliant and as a result felt very safe.Cafe bar where breakfast normally taken closed due to Covid but no problem.Opposite train station is the excellent bar “ Platform 5 “ where delicious breakfast can be eaten inside or a nearby Greggs where a takeaway breakfast Is available. Princes St and the heart of stunning Edinburgh only 15 minutes walk away. The staff at our hotel were professional, friendly and helpful and we are already planning our return stay. Thank you and well done. One other tip..we normally travel to Edinburgh by train but on this occasion took the car and our stay was a Saturday and Sunday night. Midweek parking nearby is a nightmare and expensive but from 6.30pm Sat to 8.30am Mon nearby on street parking is free and we were great full the receptionist pointed this out to us.…
Very good value. Room fresh and clean. Great location for us as my daughter and family live close by but so easy to get anywhere. Tram to centre. Local trains to Fife coast or to North Berwick via Waverley. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a base to go out and about. Good cafe for breakfast Coates Cafe?( on corner of main road and Coates Garden, Easy access to Waters of Leith walk with Stockbridge in one direction and museum of modern art in the other. Staff very friendly and helpful
