We spent a couple of days here recently and would definitely stay here again. The location is excellent; nowhere in the city centre is to far to walk but as it is just off the Royal Mile, it's quiet. Breakfast is basic but good qualiy but be aware that the breakfast room is quite small and if the hotel is...

Stayed for a weekend with husband and 2 kids. Location is great - just a few minutes from the Royal Mile but away from the more lively pubs. The room was big enough for a double bed and a double sofa bed for the kids with a good bathroom with a clever door which closes on the loo and allows...

Stayed for 3nights over Easter. The location couldn't be better, close to all essentials in the city centre The hotel was very full which probably was the reason for the somewhat crowded breakfast room. The room was limited in size but otherwise OK, except for the fact that we were woken up many times every night by the very loud...

This is an unusual complaint and I can only apologise if this disturbed your sleep. The HIE is just off The Royal Mile so an ideal base for exploring Edinburgh. WE arrived early morning and was surprised that we could use our room straight away. We were greeted with a bottle of champagne as a birthday treat. The breakfast was ample with a good mix of cereals croissant and cooked items.. Would definitely stay there...

Stayed with the wife and 2 teens. Great location close to the Royal Mile. No free parking though. Room was typical in size for European hotels. Breakfast was good, but the tables in the dining room fill fast.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us, I am pleased you enjoyed our free breakfast. We are very lucky to be located so centrally, within close walking distance to all of Edinburgh’s main attractions. As we do not have our own car park, we recommend a nearby NCP car park where the hotel can...

Nice hotel, helpful staff, clean rooms etc but the Wi-Fi is a joke. The signal so bad that really they should not claim they have wi-fi, a bit of a false pretence. The trouble is, especially when you are travelling, it is really irritating if you choose somewhere because it has wi-fi and then find it not true.

Dear Rawvision Thank you for your feedback and I am pleased that we have been able to discuss and resolve your concerns with personal communication. The hotel is in a great location, literally 1 minute off the Royal Mile, and a ten minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley. The room was a good size, with comfortable beds, a good shower and everything you need. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even searching for a spare phone charger as I had forgotten mine. Breakfast was good...

Thank you for you overall pleasant comments. Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
