One of the most accommodating hotels we have stayed in. From the moment we walked in we felt welcome, nothing was too much of a problem. Good food in the evening and they even made us a takeaway bacon sandwich and filled up our flasks because we left early. A great place to stay.

We enjoyed a two nights get stay here while we toured the area on our bike. We rented a bike garage and ate in the hotel one night. We were booked on a bed and breakfast basis. The facilities for bikers are second to none and the owners are friendly and happy to chat about biking routes etc. Our room...

Went for a meal with our 3 teenage lads. Food was brilliant and reasonably priced. Popular with bikers. Lots of interesting photos to look at around the place and the staff were friendly and welcoming. They have a good menu where you can build your own burger. Really good.

How to approach this review is a tricky one. So, I was staying as a travelling motorbiker, but also appreciate not everyone who stays (or eats) here is in the same boat. Or seat as it were. From a motorcyclists perspective, it's close to perfect. Superb location, amazing facilities and unsurpassed local knowledge. Dave and Clint both took time out...

We arrived whilst they were still running the Sunday carvery, unfortunately we didn't fancy this but the chefs were willing to give us the normal menu. And a delight it was!! The menu is full of choices build your own burgers, baked potatoes, sandwiches, plus all the usual classics and a chefs special. We had the steak pie which was...

Two adults and two children. Lots of local interest in the form of news articles on the walls and under glass on the tables. Service very slow. An hour from arrival to food appearing. Appeared to be short staffed. We all ate from the build-a-burger menu which was both tasty, well presented and good value. More timely service would merit...

Met up with our son at this establishment for something to eat one evening. The staff very pleasant the food very good, the acoustics were a bit uncomfortable with no soft furnishing to deaden the sound

Stopped in here with my partner and in laws for a quick drink before heading somewhere else for dinner. Was subjected to staggering levels of rudeness and ignorance from the second we crossed the threshold. Whoever owns/runs this establishment should be ashamed that their staff feel it's acceptable to treat paying customers this way.

Dear krb7519, If I was allowed to draw a picture of a man standing in the corner having a primal scream and pulling out tufts of hair I would post it here. It would be hard to believe that any small country hotel does more than us in trying to ensure that we have the best customer relations possible. Even...

The last time we stayed in Moffat we ate in the Buccleuch and the food was excellent so it would have been silly not to try it again, and once again we were not disappointed, albeit a wee bit expensive the food is top quality, the staff are very pleasant and the toilets are immaculate
