We, as a party of 10, attended the Friday Steak night. We were given a lovely big table in the top half of the Restaurant. We all had the Sirloin bar 2 who had the Rump, all of us agreed that the quality was tremendous and cooked exactly as asked. When you consider the deal is 2 steak dinners and a bottle of wine for £25 then it really is excellent value for money. The wine was straight off the wine list so there was no reduction in quality because it was a promotion night. This is the second time I have done the steak night and again the staff were friendly and professional. I will be back and cannot give a stronger recommendation!
We celebrated a big birthday with a big party at the Murray Arms this weekend. They did us proud. During the party planning process, they were so accommodating. During the event, they couldn’t do enough for us. We had a drinks reception in the recently-refurbished bistro, which was a perfect place to greet guests. The dinner, in the function suite, was first class, with everyone commenting on how good the food was. The service throughout the event was attentive, efficient and smooth. And it was excellent value for money. The owners have invested a lot to upgrade the hotel and it shows. Many of our guests stayed in the hotel and had a great experience. Well done and thank you to all at the Murray Arms.
Stayed for two nights and was a lovely stay. Arrived Friday evening and was warmly welcomed. Rooms were clean and tidy been recently painted bedding and towels spotless. Had a meal in restaurant Friday night was steak night for two, two 8oz sirloins and a bottle of wine for £25.00. Breakfast on the Saturday and Sunday morning was excellent. All staff very helpful and cheery. Restaurant and sitting area at rear recently renovated was clean and tidy with big log burner. Have noticed on a couple of web sites that this is a two star hotel, in my opinion it should be at least a three heading for a four if the owners keep up the good work and the renovations continues.
Whilst staying in Gatehouse of Fleet, we fancied a Sunday Roast. Went into the Murray Arms to try it. Had a lovely starter of mushrooms in a Stilton sauce which tasted great. Staff were lovely as was the roast beef. Loads of meat, delightful roast potatoes and gorgeous Yorkshire puddings surrounded by lovely fresh veg and tasty gravy. Our dog was welcomed too with a bowl of water. Homely part of the hotel with log burner, perfect for a chilly day. Would definitely visit again.
Lovely dinner. Dog was allowed in top half of dining room which was great. The pleasant young waitress even gave us a doggy bag for the leftover meat from the delicious but rather large steak pie. Food was well presented, well cooked and tasty.
