Came to this hotel after leaving a nearby hotel which I had booked into but was so bad I left immediately. The man on duty (Peter?) showed me to a very nice room - comfortable bed, large, spotlessly clean room with separate section with dressing table and tea making facilities. Hot water in bath was luke warm and not much...

We had lunch at the Murray Arms yesterday. The hotel is a bit dated in parts but it is clear that they have been working hard to make improvements and the dining room was very good. Although were shown the a la carte menu were a little disappointed that the only roast on offer was beef. The meal itself was...

Visited the Murray Arms on Wednesday night to catch up with friends. Dinning room was nice and clean, however it got cold prior to us leaving. Service was good, staff friendly and helpful. I had the duck, which was nice but cold on serving. It was no problem to have it heated up, although it was not much warmer when...

My husband, I and two friends stayed at the Murray Arms for the second time in a month because we find it such a great place. Our rooms were spotless and newly (and tastefully) decorated. And what a luxury to have the choice of sheets and blankets rather than just a duvet, meaning a good night's sleep ! The food...

My family & I have been visiting Gatehouse for many years & have always loved the Murray. Yes it's old and in need of a renovation, but Jim & his team made us feel so welcome & at home we felt very at home. The hotel is in the process of being redone, of which the staff are doing it...

We have visited on several occasions - dogs welcome within bar area. 10 out of 10 for service. Jim and his team go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Loads of choice on the menu - quality of food excellent. We will definitely be back!

The was a bit of an odd smell in the place - unclear if it was damp or weird cleaning product. The whole offering is a bit dated, so good if you want to re-live going out in the 1980's. The food was all fresh, and the kids meals were good, but the burger was a bit misguided - just...

Havent been to Murray arms for quiet a few years I know its an old hotel but was shocked at how shabby and run down it looked from the outside. They are in the process of renovations. On entering my bedroom there was an overpowering smell of bleach and cleaning products which had been left by the bathroom sink, the...

Lovely room, lovely food, fantastic wine, helpful staff and a building full of character. We had a lovely stay in this hotel and would definitely go back. Yes the building is old and needs work but the owners are clearly doing a very good job of maintaining it And I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to any...

There were 4 of us out for a birthday meal and thought we would give the place a try as had not been for a meal in the Murray Arms for a number of years. The decor in the dining area was nice enough, the place was very clean and the staff were friendly. We ordered 2 starters to share...
