My friends and I were booked in to the pods as we were cycling in Dumfries & Galloway over the weekend. The pods themselves were ideal for us and we were made very welcome in the main hotel............the food was fantastic, clean plates all round and washed down with a couple of drams!

We stayed for a family wedding in August which was a lovely occasion and great venue for an open air ceremony. However, upon leaving we didn't get a written bill (only a card receipt) and on the journey home realised we had been over charged. The error was quickly refunded but just worth keeping in mind if you stay at...

Took my wife to Mabie House Hotel for lunch on Sunday. Traditional, old-style, oak-panelled dining room - very pleasant. Starter: leek soup - very pleasant if just a tad too much salt. Main course: I had the beer battered haddock! When it arrived the first thing I noticed was the colour of the batter - a fairly dark brown, in...

We stayed in a family room nice and clean. Friendly staff and amazing food. Lovely setting for walks in the Forrest. Our dog was made very welcome. We recommend the scallops if they are on the menu -we went to the restaurant on a separate visit to Scotland and we will be staying at this hotel again in the near...

In May I stayed in Dumfries centre for 2 nights while mountain biking in the area, the last day was a the Mabie trail where we spotted this place. I was informed by the bar man Chris that Mabie house was cheaper and better than where we were and I said when we returned we would enquire. Quite rightly, £50...

This aside the staff were most welcoming and delightful throughout. We will definitely be returning here and when visiting Carlisle will make the extra journey to stay at...

We stayed here for my nephew's wedding in August. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I must say that the food for the wedding was the best I have ever had at a wedding. All delicious, served at appropriate temperature and huge portions! The family decorated the venue and we all felt very much at home in this...

3 night stay to go mountain biking. My room was really comfy, clean and spacious. Couldn't fault it. Niki and Malcolm are fantastic hosts and very friendly and helpful. Secure storage for my bikes at night as well. The food is something else....totally awesome. Probably the best food I've eaten in a hotel. The prices are great, the rooms are...

We booked 2 nights away here so that we could go mountain biking in Mabie Forest. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We arrived on a bank holiday evening and the hotel was practically deserted. The room was large considering we had paid a reduced rate. It had a very large double bed (twins zipped together), tea/coffee making...
