Don't be put off by the slightly dated decor. I stay in many B&Bs, and Wallamhill House is well up among the best ever. The bungalow is peacefully located amid open countryside, but only a few miles from the town of Dumfries. The bedrooms are large and comfortably furnished. There is also a spacious guest lounge with lovely view over...

Had the pleasure of staying 3 nights. Welcomed by Gordon on arrival and shown to our room. Lovely spacious and with a welcome sherry which I couldn't partake in as we....ME...hadn't finished driving.....Quiet peaceful and relaxing with beautiful scenic views. Both Gordon and Margaret are a wealth of knowledge and not much escapes either of them. We hope to return...

A warm welcome from Gordon he then showed us around, and left us to it. Massive room, with all you need, including a fridge, great as we had sandwiches that evening. A brilliant breakfast in the morning, which was when we met Margaret, had a good natter with her, again very helpful. We would easily stay here again.

Some friends and I recently stayed here as we were taking part in Tough Mudder nearby (20th-21st June 2015.) We were made to feel so welcome! The rooms were large and extremely comfortable and well stocked. We were greeted with sherry, chocolate and shortbread and there was fruit, snacks, tea and coffee and water in the fridge. Our hosts were...

We stayed here over the weekend (19-21st June 2015) while taking part in the tough mudder event nearby. Margaret and Gordon were excellent hosts- warm and welcoming from the start. When we arrived we were shown to our rooms where there was a glass of sherry and plate of short bread waiting for us- a really nice touch. Rooms were...

I am a mature student currently studying vet nursing at Barony Campus near Dumfries. A few months prior to starting my course, I began contacting local B and B's searching for an establishment who would be able to provide me with a room. Unfortunately, it was not as easy as I first thought, with many owners seeing the word 'student'...

My friend and I stayed here whilst racing the SDA at Ae Forest, and it was perfect! The rooms had everything we needed, and had a great sleep. Margaret and Gordon were excellent hosts, making us feel very welcome, also made us a feast of a breakfast in the morning. I couldn't imagine anyone giving this B&B a bad review.
