We stayed for a 1 night stopover on the way back from Inverness. Room was fine (twin room), shared shower room was OK albeit a tad small, breakfast was good (though you feel bad being served by the elderly Mrs Muir (reminds you a bit of Mrs Overall but not meant in an unkind way)) Location for the town centre...

Must admit to feeling somewhat apprehensive when a stooped elderly lady, Mrs Muir, answered our knock on the door, and even more so when it appeared that she ran the place by herself! However she had a twinkle in her eye and we decided to risk 40 pounds for one night. Our room at the back was large, quiet and...

I was very pleased with my stay last week - a previous one seems pretty unfair. The bed was warm and breakfasts were excellent, better than average, all for £30 a night. you try and find better value anywhere. Mrs Muir was kind and helpful. Don't suppose she will carry on for ever so come and enjoy it while you...

Having driven for six hours, on arrival we wanted to shower before going to the wedding we were attending, but there was no hot water. When I asked about this, I was told curtly that it was my fault as I must have left it running all night. Interesting, as I'd only just arrived! So no showers for us. As...

Although Mrs Muir looks like a fantastic granny, she needs to retire now.The house was nice ,if old fashioned. No biscuits with the tea/ coffee in the room, had to unplug the kettle to pour it, no TV.hairdryer, complimentary shampoo,(used soap in the shower) in the rooms. No duvet on the bed which was very hard and felt very uncomfortable with...

Spent 3 nights. Room large and clean, very quiet. Windows covered in condensation every morning. Breakfasts poor, only skinny white bread for toast, no fruit. At checkout we were told our rooms were an additional £6 per night above the rate we were quoted - apparently we had been upgraded without being told of the differences in rooms/costs. No tv...

Myself and my husband stayed there for a w/end, as we were attending a wedding in the town. The owner was very rude on our arrival, didn't show us how to us the door and gave our to us when we couldn't open it. We asked for new towels on the 3rd morning but we didn't get them. Also the...

The lady that ran the B&B was just lovely!! Location for the town & walks was excellent! The B&B was quiet and clean, it felt like we were staying at our aunts house!! Breakfast just kept coming and coming, would definately go back.

After coming here and reading the other reviews, I was a little apprehensive about my stay at Whitestone House. I shouldn't have been, Mrs. Muir was welcoming and friendly, the room was large, for one person, and clean and tidy. I never had to wait for the bathroom, which was right beside my room. I was given a house key,...

I booked a double room for myself and my husband as we were attending a wedding at Barony Castle. Mrs Muir was aghast at the thought of two men sharing a double bed - not that uncommon, but she did vent her surprise and discontent. Room dated, but clean. Went for breakfast in the morning at the scheduled time and...
