Apartment 3 was unclean / not a large double bed as suggested / our living room window directly above the smoking area/main entrance / no assistance during the night from hotel staff resulting in calling the police to disperse a large party in apartments 4 + 5 who were unacceptably drunk and out of order during these very difficult times Awaiting a telephone call from the manager to apologise for the situation we unfortunately found ourselves in.

I’m not the type of person to write a review about anything but this definitely needs to be taken into consideration, the beginning to the end of the trip was just as bad and seemed to get worse, the longer we were there, the more we realised how bad this place was. To begin with the male at reception was very rude with myself and my friend while checking in, his attitude towards us was very unprofessional and abrupt, we then were shown along to our apartment and the place was nice and well presented until we looked deeper into it, to start with the kitchen had scratches over the worktop there were scratches on the fridge, inside the oven was obviously food crumbs from previous guests which hadn’t been cleaned properly or at all! The oven didn’t have any markings on it to show temperatures or grill level or anything there was simply a G/O under one of the nobs which obviously isn’t helpful at all. Moving on to the cleanliness of the apartment over all was okay but there was lots of noticeable spider webs in corners of the rooms, light shades and windows aswell as dust gathering on lots of the window sills and coat hooks behind the door which was off putting to say the least, the bathroom was manageable quite small but that can’t be helped whereas the door should get sorted as it doesn’t close without having to pull the door tight shut and locking it, speaking of doors the bedroom mirror doors are extremely unstable as they kept dislodging from the runners and getting jammed within themselves. Overall if your looking to book for looks then go ahead as it’s laid out and presented nicely but with the little things that nobody pays attention to certainly add up and should be attended to ASAP.

I would like to thank the staff and the manager at the Ranald Hotel after we had to cancel our stay due to COVID 19 restrictions. After having a nightmare with Booking.com who would not answer my complaint, the Ranald Hotel took it upon themselves to refund us our full costs for the trip. I can’t thank you enough and will definitely be visiting you in 2021. Thanks again. Rosemary Evans

Me and my partner took a drive to Oban. Last minute decided to book a hotel The Ranald Hotel & apartments became the top choice as we sat up at the McCaigs Tower. On arrival due to covid reduced hours we had to call the number provided on door at reception the lovely gentlemen arrived soon as he can was very friendly and welcoming he went over our details and gave us leaflet to fill out for breakfast the following day there was a list of options to chose from which would be delivered to your door at your chosen time. The gentleman asked us if we needed anything gave us direction to our room and allowed us to settle in and inspect the room before coming to ensure we had everything we needed. This stay was very pleasant and enjoyable the hotel is very cozy and welcoming and will be visiting again soon once COVID-19 restrictions have been lowered thank you very much for such welcoming stay
