#7 of 14 hotels in Oban
A beautiful 4 star hotel branded through Best Western Muthu Queens Oban situated next to the bay of Oban with wonderful views of the Island of Kerrera. The Best Western Muthu Queens Hotel is a magnificent building, with its own interesting history. The hotel is believed to have been built for the 1st Episcopalian Bishop of Argyll and the Islands, to become his home in the late 19th Century. At present, the building maintains the old world charm The hotel is proud to welcome their guests with unparalleled views over Oban Bay, an elegant interior and some of the best food in Oban. The Best Western Muthu Queens Hotel in Oban has been substantially refurbished to offer both Victorian charm and modern, functional accommodation. Stunning views can be found both inside and out, as the hotel boasts beautiful, cozy reception rooms and outdoor views of Oban that stretch for miles across the water. The friendly team of staff are just as inviting, keen to offer the warmest of welcomes and assistance to all guests. Reassuringly, you'll be staying in the only 4-Star full service hotel on the West Coast of Scotland – so there is no doubt about the quality you will enjoy. The lovely resort town of Oban offers plenty of attractions inside and outside of its parameters. Dunollie Castle stands just on the outskirts the town, and provides glorious views that reach the Island of Kerrera. The falls of Lora can be found just six miles away from Oban, and prove a perfect day out for any adrenaline junkies or budding photographers. Treat yourself to some kayaking, diving, a ferry trip to visit one of the most beautiful islands in Scotland or simply enjoy the outstanding scenery that is waiting to be snapped. We’d highly recommend Loch Creran for some of the most peaceful fishing around, just 30 minutes away from the hotel.

Booked a night here but was transferred to the sister hotel Alexandra as it was still closed. Not an entirely seamless transfer as they charged me again at the Alexandra and I had to "request" a refund from booking.com. If they're not going to honour your booking and transfer you to another hotel they could at least make it as seamless as possible. No idea what the place is like, but I've given it 3 stars as the staff were as helpful was they could be during the transfer.

The hotel is fine, it is warm, clean and comfortable. The issues arise in the restaurant area. The staff do not have a good grip on the English language and many mistakes were made during my stay with what food had been ordered and to what table the respective food dishes were to be served. The gentleman next to me one evening at dinner was offered three different mains and not one was correct. It is a shame as the hotel in general is fine with good views.

We had a lovely 3 night stay. Had a meal on the first evening and it was really nice and the Chef came and asked if we enjoyed our meal which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was good quality too, couldn’t fault any of it. The lady on reception (sort I’ve forgotten her name) was very welcoming and helpful. We stayed in the annex at the back in the 3rd floor and we had a sea view. The exterior of the annex is not very pretty, but, the rooms are of a good standard spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds and pillows. We would definitely stay again 👍

We have been regularly visiting Oban at this time of year to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. This year it was a last minute decision and as a colleague of mine had used The Queens Hotel before, so we decided to give it a try. Part of the MGM Muthu Group of hotels / Best Western we booked through their own website. By booking and paying in Advance we got an incredible rate 4 nights B&B. The Hotel is located just along the northern edge of the bay , a 10 min stroll from the the station. Car parking is available at the front of the hotel. When we arrived the receptionist and the manager were friendly and helpful. We found our room via a rather cold link corridor and a flight of stairs and a lift. Our room was very clean, bright albeit a limited view. Our mattress possibly may of seen better days , but did not affect our sleep. All the normal tea / coffee etc. was available in the room. Flat screen TV. Bathroom had a good shower over a Jacuzzi bath. Everything appeared to look as if it had been recently refurbished to a good standard. Having enjoyed our first couple of breakfasts , we decided to have a bite to eat and a couple of drinks this evening in the hotel. First Class. We have found ourselves a new hotel that we will use again and have even extended this trip to 5 nights. The Manager, the girls in reception, cleaners, kitchen staff and finally Andrei & Claudiu who have waited on us in a friendly, professional manner were the 'Icing on the Cake'....& this is only our 3rd night. We will definately return
