Second visit to the Royal Hotel. It's ideally situated in the heart of Oban. The room was small and dusty but the beds were clean and the towels were fresh. Walls very thin and could hear people in the adjoining rooms getting up and going to the bathroom. The carpets in the bar were threadbare and completely split in some...

Stayed here for 2 nights for a Burns Bash. The room we had was ready for an upgrade, but some rooms had already been done, so this is ongoing I believe. There was a kettle and hairdrier in the room. The breakfast and dinner were very good. There was Scottish ceilidh entertainment on both nights which was excellant. The bedroom...

This hotel is in the very centre of Oban ,and that is the ONLY good thing about it,I have worked in the hospitality/hotel trade for the last 20 years and I am astounded that this passes for acceptable .Yes I appreciate the hotel is undergoing refurb, which incidentally is not mentioned when booking, but it needs more than a refurbishment,in my opinion...

Been many times to this hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful, food good, and rooms very comfortable. Restaurant staff couldn't do more for us. The entertainment in the hotel is great with Hector and Crew.

Hotel tired and in need of major refurbishment.Stayed in room 405 room small and bathroom very tight on space needs a complete re-think, perhaps a shower room a better option.Nice big lounge, but perhaps dim the lights a little bit as too bright especially in the evening's and remove sauce bottles from tables!! Good breakfast but dissapointed with evening meals...

Quaint bit oldie fashioned. Very clean. Nice staff. Very good food. In the process of being updated which did not affect us in any way. Situated near train and bus station. Very small hotel car park. Quiet at night. Cosy room.

Well situated in centre of town, impossible to get into hotel car park at rear too small, parking is quite difficult so bear that in mind. The hotel is being "revamped", check-in was eventually sorted out, we had booked 2 sea view superior rooms one was on the fourth floor and one on the fifth floor, both these rooms were...

This hotel is well situated and is in the process of being upgraded, well the rooms are. Our room, 506 was very nice with a clearly recently upgraded bathroom.
