In a prime location, right in the centre of the curving esplanade, just a pleasant walk from the shops and harbour, stands Oban's Great Western; a hotel proud of offering space and comfort, as well as magnificent views of the bay (remember to look out for those memorable sunsets!). Ideal for a relaxing holiday, the activity on the bay can simply be watched from the welcoming lounge and cocktail bar, while it's also an ideal touring centre. With Glencoe, serene lochs and the Western Isles on the doorstep, there's a myriad of sightseeing opportunities. And with coast and country walks, angling, sailing, diving, bird-watching and a whole host of other leisure pursuits at hand, you should never be at a loss for something to do.

I found the food in this hotel excellent, I ordered the sirloin steak which is the best steak I've ever had! The most important part of why I wanted to leave this review was for the lady serving me in the restaurant who's name was Alice-she gave the most amazing service possible, she was so attentive and couldn't have been nicer, she was rushing around making sure everyone was happy, I loved the way she couldn't have given better service and deserves this fantastic review ! A massive thank you Alice and ill make sure I tell everyone about how good this hotel stay was and ill be sure to return with my wife and 2 kids! A big shinig star 🌟 to Alice

Just back and have to say what a huge hotel; bit run down but was getting done up as we were there, staff were all brilliant, especially the receptionist from Sheffield who upgraded us to a huge room free with massive window looking out to the bay where we sat looking out on the sofa having a nice drink , all restaurant staff great too just a shame it is getting made to close due to this virus

Enough shops to keep me going.Had a wall up to McCaigs tower but the hill isnt for the faint hearted. Thanks again to all the hotel staff for a wonderful stay.

We do love a 5* review so thank you. Our superior rooms offer some of the best views in the building and the view from McCaigs tower on a nice day (when we get them) is really something else. I will pass your comments to the team and we hope to see you again soon. Vicki Glen General Manager

Stayed here on a Shearings coach trip and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Only a short walk from Oban's main street and a stone's throw from the harbour, the location could not be better. From outside the building is impressive and commands the seafront. There are rather steep steps up to the property. The interior is pleasant and welcoming and the bar area is comfortable, complete with wonderful views across the bay. Indeed the hotel is right on the seafront. My seaview was worth the extra money. Food and service in the restaurant was very good; rooms were kept scrupulously clean. I could not fault this place.

The hotel is ideally located short walk from town. The staff are friendly and polite and will help you whenever they can. The rooms are clean and comfortable and I had a sea view room which was lovely. The food was lovely on the evening and good selection from menu. The breakfast was buffet and good selection to from cereals to hot food. The hotel has a lift to the three floors. The hotel has a lovely bar area with views over the harbour.
