My partner and I stayed for 2 nights for his birthday and it was perfect. I booked a sea view room which was lovely to sit at the window looking out to the water. The hotel was stunning and breakfast was amazing, lots of options and we had plenty to eat. Big up to the chef! Thank you to Maiju and Claire they lovely reception staff who were always happy to help with any queries. The cocktails were spot on! We will definitely be back for another stay at the Perle!
I’m not often lost for words but on this occasion I cannot find the appropriate verbiage to do justice to our stay here. It was only for one night but it will live with us for a long, long time - a new standard has been set. The room (well, suite) was immaculately decorated and furnished, with a stunning view, a huge bathroom, amazing facilities, and a tremendously comfortable bed. The hotel was bright, clean, and welcoming throughout and the staff were exceptional. Every single member of staff we engaged with was helpful, cheery, and attentive. Whilst it is usually unfair to hold one above any other, Claire at reception deserves a HUGE amount of praise for her help, assistance, kindness and generosity. Cannot recommend enough! Cannot wait to return!
The Perle is traditional, Baronial style Scottish hotel which has been recently refurbished to a very high standard. It is obvious that the interior design was carefully and deliberately planned, and the result is both stylish and classy. There are many high notes of luxury throughout, such as the beautiful, heavy velvet curtains in the rooms; the tweed coverings on the stools/some seats; and the very on trend bathroom floor tiles. It has lovely pictures and wall hangings though out, whilst the Victorian integrity of the building has been conserved. I was impressed! I do hope the owners keep on top of the upkeep and keep it looking wonderful with a refresh every few years. The staff are absolutely wonderful at the Perle. We were really impressed by how attentive, polite and pleasant everyone was. The service really was spot on. Additionally, we went during covid so things were terse and tense for many - the staff took challenges in their stride with competency and real capability.…
We arrived for our 3 night stay ahead of our room being ready, but were offered a complimentary drink in the bar while we waited. Our room was on the first floor with a sea view but was quite a small corner room. Even though it was early September we had to put the heating on in the room as it was raining on and off for the three days we were there. The bed although small was comfortable, there was also a TV and Coffee making facilities provided, and complimentary WIFI. There was also not very much wardrobe space. The bathroom on the other hand was a good size an excellent shower, good quality toiletries and towels. During our stay due to COVID19 the room was not made up. Breakfast for which you had to book a time was taken in the Baab restaurant and consisted of the full Scottish option with fruit, toast, tea or coffee. The hotel has an excellent location being right on the sea front and near the train and ferry station, parking is a problem to be aware of.…
Everything was absolutely immaculate, and there was nothing staff couldn’t do for you. They are working in exceptional, challenging and somewhat unfair circumstances and handle it absolutely perfectly. The room we stayed in was beautiful with a fantastic view of the harbour. We enjoyed the most delicious breakfast and dined in the restaurant one of the evenings. I can highly recommend both meals - they were absolutely outstanding. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough - if you are considering staying in Oban, I urge you to check yourself into the Perle. You will absolutely not be disappointed. We can’t wait to come back again!
