Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Inveraray Inn is a clean and tidy hotel run by a team of really helpful and friendly staff. The bar and dining area is relaxing and the food is good. Breakfast was excellent and served with a smile, which is always a good start to any day. We have booked again; it’s a perfect stop off for our journeys further north and we look forward to returning.

Hotel's Favourite
Sunday 28th and making the most of a lovely Christmas gift we set off to the Inveraray inn. On arrival check in was flawless and despite arriving earlier than we planned the receptionist did everything she could to book us in. We really appreciated her consideration. We then proceed to room 107. Some might describe it as small, we found it perfect. It was clean; roomy enough, had everything you could require and the shower room was a decent size. The bar area was well run and prices reasonable. At our request our bar table was wiped down by Pablo with no issues. Pablo continued to be someone we bumped into throughout our stay. We met him again in the evening in the bar restaurant when we were having dinner and that only confirmed our earlier impression of his enjoyment of his work. He was professional, courteous and very competent. A lovely person and asset to the Inn. Our evening meal of balmoral chicken & fish and chips was of good ingredients, tasty and well presented. We had a lovely sleep in the clean, fresh bed with good quality bedding. There were plenty of towels in the shower room. Breakfast was lovely with a good selection of cold buffet items and hot food. Again service was exceptional. The Inveraray Inn is an old building but doesn’t feel run down. There are creaky, quirky bits of it but this adds to the charm and history. We will definitely return and had a restful lovely stay. Thank you to everyone in front and back of house.

Stayed here many times over the past 15 years with my wife, nice bar & restaurant & decent enough food most times. However, for the first time I realized that the sound insulation in the hotel is appalling between rooms. We were allocated Room 207 & had our one night stay spoiled by massive Glaswegian gobsh*tes in the next room talking & swearing loudly in the next room between around 2200-2345. I was tempted to murder them all but decided that would culminate in a divorce so resisted that very strong temptation. I said to reception on check out when asked how was my stay but very limited interest by hotel staff. I have stayed in The George, Brambles & Inveraray Inn on multiple occasions in the last 15 years. If you truly value peace and quiet, do not stay in any of these establishments, book yourself somewhere more private & go self catering is my advice, I like the Inveraray Inn but will be only visiting for food or drink next time & I will never stay here again due to the thin walls. Ironic for a hotel built in the 1800s when you would expect stud walls did not exist!

Stayed two nights at the Inveraray Inn and all staff we came in contact with were very helpful and friendly and any request was met with a smile and a cheery word - Room was spotless but public area could do with an update. Evening food on both nights was superb as was the service. Breakfast was very poor on first morning but much improved on second morning - Only area of concern was that menu choice did not correspond with website & cost of drink more expensive than was detailed in Hotel Web-site.

We arrived at the hotel and were greeted warmly by the receptionist Eva. It’s not the most modern but it’s spotlessly clean and the staff are wonderful. They cannot do enough for you and nothing is too much trouble. The food is amazing and was served piping hot. We ate in the hotel the three nights we were there. There is nothing that I can fault with the hotel other than the stairs as they are not for anyone that has a disability, but this was pointed out to us in numerous occasions so we knew what to expect. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we will return. Such friendly helpful staff 👏🏼👏🏼
