Since I gave this a poor service review we have eaten here a few times. The food has been good and plentiful. The service much improved so perhaps my review was a one off. Other family members regularly enjoy eating here so I cannot say more than that.

Had a delicious family meal in the bar area which had a roaring fire! There was a good choice of food on the menu with all meat sourced locally. We had fish (huge!) and chips, steak pie (packed with steak) and venison casserole. We only had a main course as we were so full! Would definitely visit again if in...

One of the best meals locally, portions were very generous, indeed we as a group could only manage two courses, pate starter was a meal in itself but father managed it, japanese prawns were delicious, all the mains were in plentiful supply as well. We chose to eat in the Bar/dining area rather than dining room, staff friendly and attentive.

We booked the Strathmore Arms for lunch after our wedding. I cannot fault anything from first contacting Gemma to arrange the day to when we walked into the room for lunch, it was simply perfect. It had been decorated beautifully, so romantic for a wedding. There were 13 of us at the table but loads of space and everyone thought...

My wife and myself were here for a private party dinner on Saturday 5th March 2016 and staying until Sunday morning. Despite being very busy with other meals (over 90 covers that night apparently) our dinner was excellent and plentiful with a good menu choice, served piping hot on hot plates as it should be. On Sunday morning Breakfast was...

warm and welcoming, excellent ambiance. Good food, whether lunch or evening meal. Always nice to have a friendly welcome from Jemma(apologies if mis-spelt) who never fails to make everyone feel special. We go regularly and always come away feeling that we've had a great experience

Absolutely fantastic country restaurant with an open fire, friendly staff, amazing fillet steak and just an all round super wee place. From what I saw and heard it is a busy wee spot, so best to book I would say, you won't be disappointed We will be back

We phoned up in the morning and booked for lunch on a cold wet miserable day. On arrival we entered the Bar area to be greeted by a very pleasant member of staff who showed us immediately to our table. We were handed the menus and ordered drinks while we perused the menu. As usual there was a large selection...

We have been here a few times as we are local nd every time I have lamb. Shocking I know but it is because it really is fabulous. Saying that I never finish it as you really do receive quite a large plateful. This is a busy restaurant and I would advise booking. The waitress with the dark hair who...

I've been meaning to visit this establishment for years. And so I took my daughter, wife and her mother out for a birthday treat to the Strathmore Arms this weekend. Location is lovely. Service was friendly without being pretentious. Atmosphere was everything I look for in a pub - the place has both a restaurant and a bar. Menu was varied....
