We chose this B&B thinking it was quite near the centre of Belfast and the city walls. Unfortunately we found these are at the bottom of quite a steep hill and we hadn't appreciated how hilly the location was and that it was not really suitable for someone with sight and mobility problems. We stayed for two night in room A just inside the front door so there was no difficulty climbing stairs but there were a couple of tricky steps in the dining room cum bar area which needed identifying. The room itself was a good size but a second chair would have been more useful than a small chaise longue. Although the size of the bathroom was fine, the towel rail was minute and wasn't working (we think it had a leak and had been turned off) so we had to resort to using the very large radiator in our room to dry towels. In addition the click clack wash basin pop up was inoperable throughout our stay even though we had initially reported this to staff on day one. When we got into bed on our first night we found the bottom sheet barely fitted the mattress and was totally inadequate and the second night was no better; the duvet had been pulled up and the bottom sheet was in the same rumpled state we had left it that morning. The first morning's breakfast was a disaster. The jug of milk we were given for our cereal was sour, the bacon was hard and inedible, the sausages appeared to be a catering version with more rusk filler than anything else and the kitchen had run out of eggs because the delivery hadn't arrived, We weren't looking forward to the second morning and fortunately this was marginally better although it couldn't have been much worse. To be fair the one thing in Serendipity’s favour was the bar area which was small and cosy and where we met up with some of the other guests and had quite a convivial first evening. However overall our stay was not quite the experience we had anticipated. It was much more expensive than quoted online presumably because it was downstairs and suitable for those with a disability but even so we certainly won’t be repeating it.

Had a lovely two night stay in this B&B. Easy check in. Had a lovely bright clean warm room. Had dinner there one night was freshly cooked also had a pint. They also have a lovely cute bar. The breakfast was exceptional both mornings . All the staff i encountered were Irish and all so friendly. Would be a great experience for anyone who wanted to see the real Derry.

My friend and myself went to stay in Derry and stayed one night in Serendipity in Derry. The place was clean but expensive for what it was more like a hostel to be honest and charged 114 pounds for one nite b and b. (only they didnt give us breakfast) The owner was not very friendly at all . We enjoyed Derry sightseeing as Derry a lovely place. Next morning we went down for breakfast at half nine and was told by the young girl with long dark hair You have missed breakfast as too late . I admit partly my fault as the clock had went forward an hour so instead it was actually 10.30 breakfast stopped at 10.00 A wee wrap on the door from member of staff would have been nice to stay breakfast finishing soon but suppose easier morning for them not cooking if they didnt. Another couple came for breakfast behind us and they were also refused any. I explained it was a genuine mistake and it being Mothers Day could they not make us something and she said No the kitchens cleaned . Her attitude for a young girl was not doing this business any favours. We asked could we have even cup tea and an older lady said ok. We had to make a slice of toast ourselves. We were given 2 cups pot tea no butter no jam with 3 staff who had a real easy morning not cooking and couldnt be bothered . Couldnt believe it when the staff sat down eating their own breakfast in front of us after the young girl had stood at our table 5 full minutes making excuses about not making us breakfast where i had to say to her by the time ur standing here talking you could have made something. We couldnt stay here another night so packed up and left We looked online and got great deal Holiday Inn Express in Derry bed and breakfast for 85 pounds cheaper to stay in a Hotel . On arrival we were met with lovely friendly staff in the Holiday Inn it was in total contrast with staff at Serendipity. So my advice book somewhere else as this Serendipity Hostel had bad vibes and totally bad customer service .

This review is nonsense , false accusations and spiteful, you should be ashamed of yourself treating our staff how u did and then have the cheek to go online like a keyboard warrior with a bottle of wine or 3 then giving it the whole bit, your problem is dear too much drink again I would summise, false accusations and abusing young staff, u should be somproud of yourself

Terrible room. So small and actually not even displayed on their website or other booking sites. Run down. Our bathroom was wrecked and unsafe - It was obvious previous guests had accidently broke the shower glass panes and so the owners just removed it and it was litterly just a shower on a wall and shower drain. Not a wet room and really unsafe. Total dive. Not what my partner paid for. And the place was full of hallions

Check in was contactless and very easy. The room was very clean and comfortable and the complimentary toiletries were a added bonus. The city centre was within walking distance. We enjoyed a nice drink in the outside area, watching the football on the telly. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. All in all our stay was excellent value for money and we will stay again next time we visit Derry.

Stayed one night with our family group, as a stopover on our way to Donegal. Occupying 4 rooms in total. We all enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We found parking easily outside the b n b and it was just a short walk in to Derry. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.
