Stayed in September 2022, lone traveller. 3 nights stay, greeted warmly by Seamus as I arrived. He, Helen, and Elli were the friendliest of hosts. Very comfortable room, clean. Great breakfast as well, had cooked breakfasts. The location is literally 2 minutes around the corner from the Museum Of Free Derry and Free Derry Corner. If you are interested in the history of Bloody Sunday, (watch the James Nesbitt movie) the events of that day literally happened in the next street, Glenfada Park, Abbey St, and surrounding area. So you are right where it happened. The City walls, Guildhall, Tower Museum and the bars and restaraunts are 5-10 mins easy walk away. Close enough, but far enough away for you to have a peaceful night. No complaints at all and will happily stay here again, next time I'm in Derry. A lovely guest house/B&B. I can easily recommend this.…
Being English and never having been to Northern Ireland before I was slightly trepidatious about the trip, but the most friendly welcome I received showed me how misplaced any worries had been. This was a very pleasant stay, with very helpful hosts who went out of their way to make sure the stay worked out very well. Lovely traditional Irish breakfasts, everlasting tea, and lots of space in the lounge to relax and admire the wonderful collection of rock, folk, poetry and football memorabilia on display. Very much recommended!
Although we only stayed for a single night off the back of a family holiday in Donegal, we could have stayed at the Abbey for longer. It's ran by the most wonderful couple who are a great example of the warmth and friendliness of the city as a whole. I'd highly recommend this B&B and it'll be my first choice on my next visit.
Great stay again at the abbey we come for quick visit to Derry and love to stay here great location too 🥰was told make myself at home 🥰 will be back soon cozy and warm great night sleep close to the shopping 🛍
We were in Derry for one night and stayed in Abbey B&B. We were so impressed with our stay here. Our room (7) was spacious and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was perfect served to us by Elli who was lovely. Seamus and Helen are so welcoming and friendly and we loved that the place has their personality all over it. Seamus even came round to meet us at Quayside to show us way round to B&B! That's going extra mile for guests and it was much appreciated. We are definately coming back here
What an amazing stay! The accommodation was excellent, the beds (we stayed in Room 1 which was a twin) were soooo comfortable and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The lounge area has some great memorabilia too. It was also nice and quiet. Seamus, Helen and Elli were so friendly and welcoming. The full Irish breakfast was outstanding, with plenty of tea and coffee, juice available. Elli served breakfast quickly and effortlessly and was just so friendly. I would say to anyone looking for accommodation in Derry to stay here, you won't regret it and all within easy walking distance to the city. Excellent value for money. We wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be back Thank you for everything. This place is fab!! Emma & Holly
We enjoyed the Abbey the one night we were there. Seamus was courteous and accommodating all the way through. Breakfast was delicious and there’s a sweet little sitting area downstairs for dining or hanging out. Only thing to note is that the B&B is outside the walled city, so a bit removed from the bustle of restaurants, bars and nightlife. Which is great for a restful night. Just mentioning because we weren’t aware when booking. Thanks!
Great stay, lovely place, great bedroom, great Breakfast, Lovely people! Met lovely guests from United States, Scotland & all over Ireland. Close to City Centre yet in a quiet location Yes, I hope to stay there again.... soon! ☘️
We were made to feel extremely welcome in this warm, clean and comfortable B&B. The location was great, in a area steeped with history which we enjoyed learning about and a 5 min walk away from the shops, bars and city walls. Breakfast was great, with choice of hot food all freshly made. Parking outside easy to find. Only small grumble was the bathroom door which was two smaller doors which didn’t close together completely. Would definitely return.
Very welcoming and comfortable, just a couple of minutes from the centre of the city, and a great breakfast too. There is some fascinating music memorabilia in the public rooms and looks like a fine place for a party, though I was saying on a quiet Sunday night.
