Two Christenings brought our families together at the Belfrey, the staff where exceptionally attentive to all our needs and presented a very high level of care, two ladies stood out particularly, one being Sheila, her energy, friendliness and personality was remarkable and Geraldine the floor manager showed understanding and a level of kindness not often seen today which made our day very memorable, my father had specific needs which the staff catered for and the food in the style of a carvery was expertly cooked, served and presented. The whole day was delightful and our families thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Belfrey.
We live local to this establishment and midweek we like to go out for a handy tea without cooking. We have given it the benefit of the doubt on numerous occasions and have been left wanting when it comes to good food. Not sure if it's what the chef has to work with or their lack of interest but the food is a big disappointment. On a positive note they're waiting/bar staff are very good. I would love to give this place a good review but at present it would be a disservice to other patrons.
We had a really comfortable stay at the Belfray- a really large room with a super king bed and 4 windows with views over the countryside. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was excellent and great value.
I had a few friends from the Honda Blackbird group over for a few days to show them around. Everyone was impressed with the hotel and the friendly staff. The bar was great and everyone had a fantastic time. All said that if they are in Derry again they would stay there again.
We visited the Belfray for lunch. Today we were in the ballroom for the carvery. It was excellent. The staff were fantastic. Myself, my wife and daughters were made to feel at home. It was a really relaxing Sunday afternoon. I would recommend a visit anytime, just be aware, the new road system can make it difficult to find the exit towards the property. This should become clearer as the new road system nears completion.
We decided to take a trip to The Belfrey for our Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed! There were 4 of us who decided on a carvery lunch in The Ballroom. The staff and service was exceptionally brilliant; and the food was delicious. I had the prawn salad starter; one had the soup and the others had the chicken vol-au-vent. Every single morsel was eaten. Very tasty. You went up for the carvery, by table, and there were very tasty options... turkey, ham, roast beef, cocktail sausages, yorkshire pudding, mash potatoes, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, carrot parsnip mash, mushy peas, bread stuffing, pepper sauce and/or gravy. The desserts were equally delicious. I had the sticky toffee pudding and it was gorgeous!! The staff were so friendly and efficient. We had a brilliant day out and would recommend it to everyone. The Ballroom carvery lunch is definitely a great day out.…
Disaster from start, phoned to ask if walk in was available, upon arrival we had to go on queue for table, carvery was the option we choose, food was lovely, with the exception of it thrown on the plate, unreckonable to eat, brought out the wrong desert of choice, wasn't asked was everything ok, felt the day was spoiled from the minute we walked in . A waste of £48 pounds. This place has deteriorated .
Called today, greeted very badly, put in order, sat waiting 20+minutes for starter which never arrived. 30 mins later our dinner arrived. Mine was nothing like it said on the menu,in fact it was rotten. My partner's was just ok. Had to go to bar ourselves to order a drink......we had our meal finished and drink still hadn't arrived. At this stage we wanted out the whole atmosphere and dining experience was terrible. Not one member of staff smiled or asked us how our meal was yet they charged us for a starter we didn't even receive. Absolute disgrace, a great day we had on mother's Day finished off with the most horrible experience in this hotel. Never again. At the rate they are doing McDonald's is a better dining experience. There was more staff than customers yet we still had an awful experience. Every one of them needs a personality transplant.…
Great food in the bar. Terrible sleep. Its similar as sleeping in a backpackers. Woke up at 3am with people shouting , laughing loudly in front of our door at the corridor, does not help as we had a room close to the staircase. Woke up again at 6am with music blasting from downstairs.
Great little Hotel very pleasant staff, and a nice bar with a Car-very dinner. The breakfast was amazing with something for all. It was presented very hot. Lift to all floors. Rooms very clean. Would definitely recommend a stay. Top Marks !!
