This is an updated more modern hotel. The check in service was excellent. The rooms were spacious, well decorated, and had ample power conveniences for charging todays devices. The bed was comfortable. The room was quiet. There was AC available which, believe it or not, we needed in April! The staff was super! They worked hard at everything to make your stay perfect. The breakfast was plentiful and well stocked - again with the staff working hard to make sure everything was stocked. The location is right off of Waterloo street which has some excellent night life and live music. It is literally a 1-2 minute walk to some fun night life. The location is next to many of the tourist attractions so you never need to drive (Guild hall, Peace Bridge, Walled City, etc). The only down side is no parking. The car park is a short 2-3 minute walk. Have the front desk endorse your ticket for a discounted rate. Overall we would definitely stay here again.…
Basic hotel room. Clean. Slightly rundown. Breakfast was very mediocre. Dining area functional canteen like. Staff friendly. Be careful of car park on a Sunday. Had to go across the road to another hotel to endorse car park ticket. This is strictly a place to sleep. Nothing more to recommend it.
horrible hotel!!! everything is dirty and the room does not match the description. the mugs are dirty, the carpet is dirty. there was no shampoo, there was only 2 in 1, shower gel, and even then three drops. we had a room with a view on the wall, so the window was also dirty 🤢. the bed was supposed to be king size, but in fact there were 2 singles together, which were moving apart. We will never return to this hotel and would not recommend to others!
Would just like to say a big thank you to all the staff at this hotel, the room was nice and clean, the location was excellent, the food was excellent. Would always stay at this hotel and the staff were very helpful from the time we arrived to the sad time we had to leave.
My Sister and I stayed here and what a great hotel. Central, clean, nice rooms, outside noise at a minimum. What made the whole experience for me was the super friendly and kindness of the staff 10/10. The staff are a credit to IHG. They let us check in early on Tues 15/3 and everything was spot on. Really tasty breakfast and great bar area with bar food reasonably priced. Thank you all for a great stay.
Would like to give a massive thank you to all staff in the Holiday Inn Express Derry in particular to Steven and Caoimhín for everything We were down this weekend Friday 11 March to Sunday 13 March had a great stay
I very nearly didn’t book after reading the negative reviews but I’m glad I did. Hotel staff were lovely and the rooms were spotlessly clean. We were on the first floor facing out into the street so I was expecting some noise but we heard nothing and I had a great nights sleep in a very comfy bed. I have only given 4 stars as the breakfast was basic. I would definitely stay again.
Celebrated my friend's birthday with stay n Illuminations in Derry. By chance booked this hotel. So glad I did! Hotel is convenient in centre to venues n city. Its a normal hotel, clean, very comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast! So why so special?? Their staff! From we booked in, staff helped us navigate town for Illuminations, bar, night and breakfast staff, were so helpful, couldn't do more! Stayed in more hotels than I can remember but their friendliness n attitude was best I've ever had! It was snowing morning we left n I watched an employee, in a teshirt, take a guest out to point her in direction she needed!! I've no hesitation recommending this hotel! Excellent! This is my go to place in Derry!
this hotel is very well located, with a car park opposite, we had a very friendly welcome when we booked in, our room was fine and clean, breakfast one morning was a little manic but grand on our second day, all the staff were very pleasant
