Thomas and his family were great hosts. Going well beyond what was expected he offered to give me a lift to Derry Airport for my return flight home . Good breakfast , nice clean bedroom with a very comfortable double bed in which I slept like a log. Fully recommended and would return again.
The Host Thomas is an extremly good historian and shares his amazing knowledge about the history of Derry with his guests. The B&B is spotless clean and the room was so cosy and neat. Irish Breakfast in the morning is delicious and fresh prepared. We will always chose Rose Park when in Derry. We can only recommend to book with Thomas and his family.
Helen and I will always look back with fondness on our stay at Rose Park House. Thomas and his family made us so welcome. Nothing was too much for them. His unrivaled knowledge of the city helped us to enjoy our time in the beautiful city of Derry.
I had the pleasure of staying in this fine BnB for one night (6/10/21). The business is run by a family and is second to none. From the moment I set foot in the door, I was greeted like I was a neighbour popping in for a cuppa and a chat or even a long lost friend dropping in. The father and daughter team combine chats with amazing food, superb service, great stories and probably the best sleep you might ever have. I’m truly looking forward to returning one day and reliving such a memorable experience.
My wife and me stayed on a Friday night and was met by the friendliest staff who gave great instruction on their processes and showed us our room. I must say pleasantly surprised is an understatement! Great sized room that was spotless along with a pristine en suite. A really comfy bed only added to the stay. It was topped of with a superb breakfast with friendly and engaging staff. Most definitely not our last visit.
Not our first time staying at this wonderful, family run, b&b. A very warm welcome from all the family & a good chat over a nice cooked breakfast. It was my birthday and the family left me a lovely birthday balloon and a box of chocolates at our bedroom door, such a lovely gesture from them and so unexpected. If you would like to stay in a place that is a home away from home, this is it. The rooms were lovely, clean & comfortable nice en suite, tv, wifi and not far from the city, a short walk through brook park, which is beautiful or £3-£4 in a taxi. Will 100% be back, very relaxing chilled stay ❤
We had a lovely clean room. Ulster fry one morning which hit the spot and cont. the following day. Thomas and his family were terrific hosts and they were vey accommodating to everything we needed. We all had a guid blether on Derry and its dynamics over the years of war and peace. The location is up the hill, but a nice peaceful walk thro' the park was beautiful. We would definitely return to Rose Park House again. Full marks and lovely place
He received a warm welcome from Eilish and a nice cup of coffee and biscuits upon arrival as well as some local tips. Good location 25 mins walk from peace bride and plenty of parking. The room was spacious and clean and bottled water in the room. We had a quite and comfortable nights sleep. A fantastic breakfast with fresh fruit salad, warm pastries and a cooked breakfast. Would stay again!
Had previously discussed the option of a corporate hotel ( where you know what you are getting) or a bed and breakfast lucky dip for a 2 night stay in Derry. We went for the lucky dip and hit the jackpot with Rose Park House for the type of stay we wanted. Formalities of a review- the room was very clean with super comfortable bed and en suit shower room. Breakfast between 8 and 9.30 was booked the night before which really set you up for the day. The location was a 10 minute walk through a lovely park to the town center and the Derry Walls. The town itself is steeped in centuries of history leading right up to the present day and a one hour walking tour - good as it was- just scratches the surface The highlight of the stay was the warm welcome and hospitality we got from the Gallagher's, who own the bed and breakfast and particularly Thomas, who's knowledge of the area and its history is wonderful. The official tour left as many questions as it gave answers and Thomas was kind enough to meet us in town for a fantastic evening to round off our experience. 2 nights was not nearly enough and I can assure anyone reading this that their slogan of "Come as guests and leave as friends" is not just a slogan, as they could not do enough for us and it was a genuine pleasure to have met them. I would not stay anywhere else on a return visit and hope to return soon.…
Rose Park was the ideal base for my first visit to the city and I thoroughly enjoyed my two night visit - thank you Mary and Darren (and Thomas for your information and such mastery of Irish history!) - before heading onto my Ulster Way trek. Great value for money and especially compared to other places I visited during my holiday in the North of Ireland, prior to Covid lockdown 2. I enjoyed the walk to/from the city centre (c10 mins only) through lovely Brooke Park, with St Eugene’s Cathedral nearby and the main city spots (City Walls, Bogside Murals etc) not much further away. I’ll definitely be returning with my better half when we’re through Covid world.
