Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Poor experience with manager. So rude and so unhelpful. Will never be back! Unable to accommodate or be helpful in a situation. I had to get booking.com involved as I was getting no help. Booking.com very helpful.

Going Lockdown crazy I went here for one night. Up to now the top of my list of places was a guest house in a small German Village but I now have a change in my list. What has been created here is almost impossible to achieve this to me is the perfect use of the house features creating unique areas with style and function combined. The dining room was a perfect example of what can be done it is fantastic I am still amazed that it worked so well I loved it and the breakfast was good as well. Congratulations on the perfect balance of style and comfort best bed I have ever slept in.

I only stayed for one night but had difficulty accessing the room as the key was badly cut. I contacted the owner and he said he would come over and sort out the problem. He never did. I contacted him a second time but again but he never showed up. The following morning at breakfast I asked one of the restaurant staff if they would contact him. Yet again, I never heard from him. Poor service!

the room was very well cleaned and looked very nice, also the breakfast was included in the price and it was very good and had a lot of options to choose, location wise the house was situated close to the town center and around all pubs and restaurants, also in the welcome book left by the owner was everything well explained about the directions where to go and the good pubs and restaurants were recommended

Stephen was an excellent host. The room was small but had all the facilities we needed. The breakfast was very nice with a great variety of hot and cold food. Parking was no problem and there was useful information about nearby restaurants in the room.

Was a last minute plan but thanks to the flexible check in times (which were of no cost!) I was able to arrive later in the evening. Spotlessly clean rooms and extremely cosy. Would definitely stay again!

We booked Angel House very last minute to stay on a Friday night. We just needed a base in the area to lay our heads so just looking for something clean and cheap. I was really pleasantly surprised. Self check in with very clear instructions. The room was small but cosy, nicely decorated and spotless. The double bed was comfy. Breakfast the next day was served in the sister B&B down the street, Serendipity and it was buffet style, good selection of continental and freshly cooked Irish breakfast which was really delicious. The host was really welcoming. Walking distance from the city centre, shops, restaurants and the Brandywell. We will be back to either of these 2 b&bs next time we are in Derry.

The accommodation was hidden behind a high hedge and a little difficult to find. The room was at the top of the stairs and a bit small. Had to go to partner accommodation for breakfast which was excellent but got wet getting there.

I booked to stay at Serendipity B&B to then recieve an email advising the property had changed name to Angel House B&B. I have stayed at Angel House B&B on 3 previous occasions prior to this and booked to stay at Serendipity as I was disappointed with my experiences' of Angel House B&B. Both B&B's are owned by the same person and on the same street. Despite me booking a room in Serendipity I was incorrectly advised re change of name as my stay was infact in Angel House and not Serendipity building. I stayed in room number 9, the first room I stayed in on 06.12.17, the television was broken on this occasion and continues to be broken during my stay on 02.11.19. Staff cleaning rooms from 9am- disruptive to people not wanting to check out til 11am.

Response from coda2019, Manager at Angel House Bed and Breakfast
Responded 8 Nov 2019
Hi,. I'm sorry but I'm very confused by your review, so I did some checks and you did not book for serendipity house , I have the booking form in front of me and clearly stated you booked for angel, they are both on the same street, we did not move your booking you clearly made a mistake and as such now wish to give us a bad review, we do not find it out of the question for some cleaning to be made in the building after 9am in the morning, your stment that the tv was broken and has been for 2 years is ubsourd, you clearly were unable.to work it then and on your previous occasion and did not consult a staff member for assistance, reviews like this leave a. Bad taste to people as it is false and just nasty, you booked the wrong accommodation and we're clearly put out about it, did not raise this with anyone and then go away and blame it on.us, next time I would suggest you check your paperwork

Nice clean B&B close walking to town centre but I didn't get a lot of sleep the 2 nights I spent there as the walls are very thin and other guests had TV on constantly. Also the radiator in the room made a very loud ticking noise all night.
