We were attending a wedding in Newcastle and booked into the Avoca Hotel. When we eventually got to our room via stairs and more stairs the view was fantastic, the room was very clean and a comfortable bed. However, to be told that breakfast finished at 9.45am and vacate your room at 11am was rather disappointing. My view, especially at...

My wife and I booked into this hotel to go to the Nathan Carter concert in Newcastle. We found the hotel very good with very nice friendly staff and nice clean accommodation. The hotel is just across from the promenade with lovely views of the Mournes and across the Irish sea. Would certainly return again.

I have never spent a night in the Avoca but when I do I will leave another review. I have however had the pleasure of experiencing their restaurant. I was very impressed with the quality of the food. Food came out relatively quick despite the restaurant being very busy. I ordered the pork and stuffing special. Only issue I had...

Nice place although I hurt my arm off those old door handles on my way to the toilets. Nice staff. Was dissapointed in the fish and mushy peas. The fish was two miserable pieces from the freezer, the chips had all black bits on them so the chef mustened have bothered to cut the bad bits away when peeling. The...

I've only been here once, but I'll definitely return!! The Avoca Hotel is filled with positive energy, welcoming staff, amazing views, and it's in a great location!! It serves delicious meals & the bedrooms are always clean. My daughter felt sick when we were staying here and couldn't come down for breakfast so they sent up some to our room!...

Lovely views. Reasonable price, excellent food, clean rooms and welcoming staff. Have stayed here a lot and it gets better each time. When we arrived we were amazed at the super refurbishments throughout the hotel!

Walked in to this place and it was completely empty, at dinner time. Only to be bluntly told by a woman that there was no room to stay the night. Place looked nixe but that woman has an atitude problem. There's no need to be mean about it, thanks.

Last minute booking with a mate for a night out to take in the sights and sounds of Newcastle. The Lady who answered the call could only offer us in her words " A very basic twin room" for the night. We decided to take the booking but were prepared for disappointment. I can honestly say the room was ideal,...

When in Newcastle i never pass this hotel. Have been going here for many years. Very homely friendly staff, good food & always worth a visit. Very well positioned along the sea front. The place hasnt changed over time still make it feel like a home away from home.
