Established in 1642, it is apparently the second oldest building in Downpatrick. Our room was a good size with decent storage and a good bed and a decent bathroom. We had the fry-up for breakfast, which was big and tasty. We also had lunch here...More

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a nice review. You are indeed correct in stating that we were established in 1642 and the premises have operated as a Coaching Inn since that time. We believe we are the oldest Coaching Inn...More

We're delighted that you enjoyed your visit to Denvir's and hopefully we'll see you again soon,
This is in Downpatrick...a bit depressed. Not a great place - the luster has gone from this once-great hotel. The staff was pleasant. The room was adequate. I would not recommend it as a place to stay unless you have to go to Downpatrick... the...More

I must admit I was a bit disappointed by your review and it made me look back at those of our other guests who have stayed this year in case we are missing something. They were all very positive. I read yours again....More
Ok, I have every sympathy for the bar staff - a whole pile of people come tumbling through the door, with no reservations, some hoping to eat, others merely wanting a drink, no-one in charge or having organised the crowd in advance. However, we were...More

Stayed for one night, nice enough room with polished wooden floor.
Plumbing a but iffy, cold water tap revolved and bath tap jammed, but you can get around it.
Nice bar area and the food was very good with friendly and efficient staff.More

Thank you for the review, and sincere apologies about the taps. These issues have now been resolved, I just wish I had known about them before you stayed. Sorry.

I'm afraid parking is an issue because we are located on an old narrow street, albeit, close to the town centre. There is parking available, on street and free of charge at the top of the hill going up from us; about 250 yards away. A bit of an inconvenience I'm afraid, but the nicest part of the town, beside the Museum and in full view of the Cathedral where Saint Patrick's grave is located.
